What’s the meme again? ”And they hated Jesus because she spoke the truth.” The guy trying to start a flamewar with the pope over his anti-AI stance with regards to art is just deranged 😂 “How many local models do you run?!” Bro, please.

I saw @keezyyoung.bsky.social doing this, and wanted to take part! Too many runners up to name, but basically the entire Sierra adventure game catalogue, most 90’s shooters, GoldenEye 64, the Final Fantasy franchise, Ultima Online, the first three Warcraft games, et cetera, et cetera. Games are cool

A 3x3 grid of video games. In order from top left to bottom right:

• Battlefield 2
• The Dig
• Day of the Tentacle
• Sam & Max: Hit the road
• The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
• Super Mario World
• Gold, Silver, Bronze
• The Secret of Monkey Island
• God of War: Ragnarök

tbh this is how you should be reading my posts if you aren’t already #comic

turned my posts into a 4-panel comic of pip saying the same words while being a little dingdong about it

1. (bashful) thanks for bearin with me while i yell incessantly about comic promo stuff.
i will eventually chill out but that first batch of readers is so hard to grind out.

2. (screaming) wish i could look cool while doing it but alas i am not built for mystery and effortless elegance i am built for foot stomping and going AHH

3. (matter of fact) once i have enough regular followers to make it a bit more self-sustaining i WILL cut the screaming by like 80% so if you think about it that's actually a reason for you to share it with all your friends and give me some sort of quantifiable metric.

4. (impish scrunchy faced smirk and two thumbs up) I'm happy to shut up in exchange for what i want.

…behind them. Also, being bombarded with high-level artistry from all angles can definitely have a discouraging effect if you feel unable to reach that level. Instead of toiling away in silence and being an unknowing innovator, I’m worried these artists give up far too early and pursue other careers

010

Johan Lundgren @mcbiff.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

That ultimately leads to the really creative stuff that happens behind the scenes being buried in favour of safer options which, go figure, look increasingly similar. My biggest concern, both for us and especially the younger generations, is being handed solutions without understanding the reasons

110

Johan Lundgren @mcbiff.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

There’s definitely been a strong artistic homogenisation since social media in particular. Of course there are also other contributing factors, such as designs-by-boardroom becoming more and more common as budgets balloon and corporations become increasingly risk-averse.

Still, I have a hard time imagining Nintendo remaking one of the most highly praised games of one of their biggest franchises, only to slap AI on it. I’m definitely curious to see more of the game “in context,” as it were.

020

Johan Lundgren @mcbiff.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

For the OOT remake, there are things about it that look strange to me, like the gloss you mentioned feeling uncannily reminiscent of what we see in a lot of AI “enhanced” imagery. Link ends up looking a bit like a porcelain doll when he’s stood out in the rain, making me wonder if it’s intentional.

120

Johan Lundgren @mcbiff.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I can see that! I didn’t like Wind Waker when it first got revealed, because it was so cartoony, and now I regard it as one of the most interesting and evergreen art direction choices in the history of the franchise.

Johan Lundgren @mcbiff.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Did the Ocarina of Time trailer prompt this post, or did it just happen on the same day by coincidence? I’m not immediately sold on the new look, but it could just be one of those things where I need to immerse myself in it for a while in order for my brain to see it without bias.
