I think in general politicians should run on the things they want to do and then do them. If the D nominee in 2028 runs on a platform that prioritizes monument removal and gets elected, then go for it.

I would also enjoy this, but I think the only way a program like that happens successfully is if Dems can do it mostly quietly in the background while loudly doing populist economic stuff. If Trump is still alive there is no way that happens because he will make it the main thing.
