My parents may be republicans but they enjoyed the halftime show. Specifically liked how colorful it was and how you felt like you were in the middle of the show, despite not being able to understand a word. Really nice set! Lotta fun!

NYT on the alleged messages on the shooter's weapon:

According to a preliminary internal report circulated inside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, federal and local officials recovered ammunition with the shooter’s rifle that appeared to be engraved with statements “expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology.”

But a senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation cautioned that report had not been verified by A.T.F. analysts, did not match other summaries of the evidence, and might turn out to have been misread or misinterpreted. In fast-moving investigations, such status reports are not made public because they often contain a mixture of accurate and inaccurate information.

Political violence is abhorrent. I have not celebrated Kirk's death. But Newsom calling for his followers to "continue Charlie Kirk's work," someone who praised stoning gay people as "god's perfect law," who called for men to "take care of" trans people like they did in the 50s and 60s, is not it.

Agreed. My buddy from Anderson is a truck driver. His current company is fantastic to him but it really should be considered the bare minimum. Truckers need unions like most other blue-collar jobs.

Yeah it definitely wasn't ideal but behind the shot, it was already pretty narrow between the columns and an abandoned cart. I did make sure a Kroger employee outside was cool with it.
