Had some fun painting fall colors while visiting family! I don’t usually do digital paintings like this so it was a challenge, but a nice one to turn off the storyboard brain. Miss my east coast fam so much, and all their seasons!! ❤️ #fall #digital #painting #illustration #animation

Welp since the last episodes of The Great North have aired, I present to you "Desktop Memories"- a silly video I made for my team on our last day, compiled of dumb doodles and screenshots I found while deleting things off of my computer. Really miss this show and all the folks behind it! ❤️

Yay, I can finally post these cute Tobin moments I drew from last night's episode! This was the last thing I worked on, so it really felt like a love letter to all these characters I've gotten to know over the years. I really miss them and my incredible team! ❤️ #TheGreatNorth

Heard it was Final Fantasy 9's 25th anniversary, so here's a little planter I made for my husband YEARS ago when we were first dating. Thanks for all the nerd points, Vivi!

Stumbled upon a few animated gifs I made YEARS ago in after effects. This was a love letter to my favorite hiking trail in Burbank before I moved from LA to SF. Glad to be living by those trails again years later! ♥️ #art #animation #gif #nature

Only took one silly pic at the Ren Faire, but shout out to all the actors who knew Dungeon Meshi enough to warn me about the monster meat to avoid, LOL

Oh hey it's May the 4th! May I share these recently found 3d boards I did for Clone Wars season 7?? This was probably one of the coolest things I got to do at Lucasfilm, I could barely believe I got to work on some of the first Maul scenes that season! #MayThe4th #StarWars #CloneWars #Ahsoka #Maul

Couple of clips where I got to storyboard Wolf taking damage and being unhinged in the latest #TheGreatNorth ep! Everyone made him so hilarious throughout this whole episode, it's def worth a watch haha. Shoutout to @aimeekitty.bsky.social who directed the episode and helped w/ clean up! 🏴‍☠️

Now that ep4 of The Great North has aired, I can share this ridiculous credits sequence I boarded! It's about a Catan-like board game with some heavy metal farm animals, so.... enjoy?? 🔥🐔🔥 AND WATCH IT ON HULU! #storyboard #animatic #thegreatnorth #animation

Marissa Bernstel @mbernste.bsky.social · 26/02/2025

This just happened to me in sbp and I remembered I made a dumb piece about it, lol. Accidentally giving beloved characters the most unhinged expressions is one of my favorite things in life ❤️ - - #storyboard #storyboardartist #storyboardpro

A character in storyboard pro is walking down a sidewalk when the selection tool selects the drawing and accidentally misses some features on the character's face. The tool drags the character down, leaving the pupils and mouth shape behind to make the character look completely bonkers.

I grew up in FL if that explains anything lmao. We also made reindeer out of palm tree branches and had to look out for frozen iguanas falling out of the trees in the winter? Good times...

A reindeer DIY craft involving googley eyes and red noses glued to palm tree branches that look like they have antlers

Unlocked an old memory of making centerpieces like this when I was a kid and I can't stop laughing at these DIY images haha... Happy pineapple turkey day everyone! 🍍

Round two!! Today TAG members marched up to DreamWorks to hand deliver our solidarity petition to an executive. We demand to see movement from the AMPTP on our priority asks, and we will keep up the pressure until it happens! 💪

Today is a great day for me to repost this one! 💪 TAG FOLKS- join your Solidari-Tea today (and every Tuesday), you really don't want to miss it! And to supportive fans and friends who want great content and healthy artists- always #StandWithAnimation !!!

A story artist multitasks to the MAX thanks to job creep and greedy execs. One hand storyboards, one animates, another does character turnarounds, holds a microphone, edits and writes- but ultimately there is still a hand clenched in a fist and raised in the air to show the unstoppable strength and solidarity of the animation guild members!

I'll be honest I don't remember what this #inktober prompt was, but it makes me laugh even more without context lol

A gummy bear wearing a cowboy hat sits on top of a pinata horse, overlooking a flock of cotton candy sheep and marshmallow peeps. They're surrounded by a fence, and the gate has a sign/giant jolly rancher on top that reads "Jolly Ranch"

031

Marissa Bernstel @mbernste.bsky.social · 20/10/2024

Another relevant #inktober since my cat Kiki goes absolutely NUTS when the seasons change. What's that, it's slightly cooler outside?? TIME FOR SCREAMING AND ZOOMING 🤪 NO PEACE FOR YOU

Marissa Bernstel @mbernste.bsky.social · 19/10/2024

It's finally starting to feel like fall in LA (not 90 degrees every day lol) so I'm reposting one of my favorite #inktober drawings with fall vibes! 🎃 I think this prompt was "gargoyle"?

Here's a credits sequence I had the honor of coming up with on S4 of The Great North! This was absolutely ridiculous to board compared to the normal sequences I'm used to, so I really appreciated the opportunity to do something different! Plus who doesn't love a medieval rock opera??

040

Marissa Bernstel @mbernste.bsky.social · 18/10/2024

Welp since another wave of twitter artists are coming here, I should probably migrate some things and update more often! Here's a lil sample of some storyboarding I've done over the years on Little Demon, Dogs in Space, and The Great North! ✨ Hope to post more soon!
