I went to an all girls school and the hockey field was freezing in the winter . It was in the 60s and we had these silly little shorts.. pretty much every girl I knew pulled a ' period' excuse when they thought they could get away with it.

I was born in a naval hospital in Northern Sri Lanka. 1952. In the middle of a polio epidemic. My dad was quarantined on his ship along with the rest of the crew, for 2 mths. My mum said children were dropping like flies! Terrifying and tragic.

My husband is from Stornoway. He left as a child so no living relatives there. We are in our 70s now. Live in France currently, after wandering for years . Like a lot of Scots , he wants to go ' home' now. Not Stornoway, but maybe somewhere rural but within an hour of Edinburgh.

Not alone. I've just scrolled past dozens of ' wasn't he great' posts. I loved his enthusiasm & he did teach people a lot about animals. But I always felt he disrespected the animals he interacted with. It was like they were props not frightened animals wondering what the hell was going on.

Interestingly, he congratulated Iceland on "retaining their independence" yet Iceland is in Schengen, the Single Market, the EEA and EFTA, enjoying free movement of goods, services, capital and people. So Nigel obviously thinks the UK could have all that and still be "independent". Good to know.
