I don't want to see the movie but I do want to see Tom Cruise win an Oscar for it.

I need to apologize to Mr. Koontz. For years, I'd believed that my only exposure to him was through ads in old comic books but--after spending the last 30 minutes trying to track down the ad--I think they were actually for Wes Craven's "Shocker".

And that name was Dean Koontz.

I stopped watching originally when he got to the "Columbus was Jewish" conspiracy and came back and skipped ahead and got "there were FOUR boats" and I can't stop laughing.

Reminds me of when Katy Perry had those nuns killed so she could turn their convent into a McMansion. Something about popstardom just does this to the human brain.

Didn't she post a lot of controversial stuff back when she ran Nabisco's twitter account?

I get a ton of text messages including political stuff that's obviously intended for my dad and marketing stuff addressed to my step-mom. I think the data scrapers / marketers are just getting really lazy.

Not to pot the kettle but the sheer gall to be like "Britain could never be involved in a genocide" without appending seven caveats to the statement. Are you kidding me with this?

How were they supposed to know Tucker was a bad guy? It's not like he brought an iced coffee to the interview.

This from a citizen of the nation that has done this repeatedly in Australia, India, Ireland, Kenya, Mandatory Palestine, Tasmania--everywhere you went--is incredibly tone deaf. Do you mean "It couldn't within ear-shot to people I like" or what are you trying to say here?

She got harassed during GamerGate and got sympathy over that. Turns out--while she didn't deserve to be harassed over that issue--she's coincidentally also an awful person.

Apparently we have it here but I guess I don't go to restaurants cool enough to use it because I'd never heard of it.

Kirk Van Houten looking uncomfortable in an undershirt and shorts as Homer tells him, "I make restaurant bookings on open table with my wife."

Also it's a sleek sedan and not a grotesque station wagon. I've taken mine from Los Angeles to Vegas with no issues, it's great. It's a bummer that the higher trims lose ~100 miles of range, though.

My understanding is that mobile browsers don't allow ad-block plugins. I'm using Adguard's DNS which is reputable but they are a Russian tech company so... It blocks most ads from working including in games so it's not great if you're into freemium mobile games.

There was a wrestling review site I was briefly reading last year but it had so many video adds that it would churn through gigabytes of data over 10 minutes. Got me to start using sketchy Russian dns on my phone to block most ads.

I have only one scoring criteria for Resident Evil movies: they get one star for each clone of Alice that appears.

Not normally regarded as horror (and this adaptation is more comic than scary, to be sure) but I adore Hunt Emerson's illustrated version of Coleridge's Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

And now the STORM-BLAST came, and he
Was tyrannous and strong:
He struck with his o'ertaking wings,
And chased us south along.

With sloping masts and dipping prow,
As who pursued with yell and blow
Still treads the shadow of his foe,
And forward bends his head,
The ship drove fast, loud roared the blast,
And southward aye we fled.

Super in-the-weeds but the whole thing with GAC for minors is so dumb. Can't be paid for with federal funds, legislature set aside $10M in state funding, and DHCS came up with "providers all need to email HCAI to make sure they're paid after October 13". It's a trainwreck waiting to happen.

The response to AI flyers has been universally negative in terms of sales and reviews. The people using them are passionless profit seekers who have misidentified a concert as being Venue + Acts + Flyer = Profit but aren't excited about what they're doing at all.
