A wonderful pathologist got me a signed copy of this cartoon for my residency graduation years ago. Even more relevant in the AI era.

Our current healthcare leadership would love it if you stopped talking about measles and instead talked about current events like the Covid lockdowns.

The current administration has been relentless in suggesting that their main goal with everything they’re doing is to improve trust in public health. We should judge them by that goal.

Fauci issued plenty of incorrect statements during the pandemic (along with many correct ones). His fans were ridiculed as having a religious devotion. Today, Fauci is more trusted than our current healthcare leaders, RFK Jr and Dr. Oz. They should be calling him up for advice.

Dear ACIP, No, I will not be accepting sketchy or experimental vax injury diagnostic tests as "clinically legitimate." static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...

I don't know why everyone keeps insisting that MAHA is anti-vax. The MAHA Institute simply wants you to know that America’s health crisis is driven by a massive epidemic of vaccine injury.

The guy who spent years writing articles like this is very confused about why you keep bringing up measles and vaccines.

I remember the good old days of 2017 when future FDA vaccines czar Vinay Prasad and I could be quoted in the same story criticizing anti-vaxxers. Instead of going to work for one.

One can reasonably debate what "anti-vaccine" means in many cases. But RFK jr going up to strangers and telling them not to vaccinate their kids should meet anyone's definition. Anyone who is being honest, at least.

RFK Jr is flying in some emergency chicken soup as speak.

Benjamin Mazer @mazer.us · 11/02/2026
Saying there's no singular anti-vaccine movement is like saying there are no democrats or republicans. Sure, everyone has a unique viewpoint, but there is an organized and well-funded outfit furthering a specific set of priorities. RFK Jr's $497,000 salary came from somewhere.

Benjamin Mazer @mazer.us · 08/02/2026
Good morning. The goal of the anti-vaccine movement is not “medical freedom.” That’s just a lie. They literally want to ban vaccines. RFK Jr & allies have filed legal requests for the government to take shots for Covid, polio, and hepatitis B off the market so you have no choice.

Far be it from me to question RFK Jr and his friends at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, but I still don’t think that the evidence shows eating a lot of beef is good for you.
010
Benjamin Mazer @mazer.us · 29/01/2026
“Peter Duesberg was not “wrong” about HIV and AIDS, he was politically incorrect about it” That’s just the tip of the iceberg of RFK Jr’s praise of the notorious AIDS denialist who died this week. Kennedy himself doesn’t think HIV causes AIDS. Our NIH Director called this view“eccentric.”

I've seen this so many times: No one hates free speech more than a senior academic who is facing criticism. You don't get to decide where criticism appears. Newspapers, blogs, twitter, all fine in their own ways. Every scandal isn't a media scandal.

The old dietary guidelines emphasized moderation and balance. The new guidelines recommend developing an eating disorder so you can be like RFK Jr.

Congratulations to the UK for following the US in adopting the varicella vaccine. Notably they are using MMRV. "Building trust is why I’ve pushed back so hard against the rhetoric that ignores scientific evidence about the excellent safety profile and effectiveness of vaccines."

It wouldn’t surprise me if some of these purported deaths were, in fact, caused by the covid vaccine—we know the shots can cause death extremely rarely. But let’s not forget how Vinay talked about childrens’ deaths due to Covid. Denominators do matter.

She is almost certainly going to win her inevitable lawsuit. When an HHS official calls you a "radical leftist," it's pretty clear you're being punished for political speech.

Just a regular reminder that our top health leaders, including the heads of the NIH and CDC, have been absorbing an online stream of insane pseudoscience and conspiracy theories for years. My contrarian take: giving obese people GLP1s is better than giving them a steak.

MAHA has self-righteously taken up the cause of Americans’ poor health. It’s purely a political movement though. Chronic diseases, obesity, etc. matter. But you won’t hear about the inconvenient causes of our life expectancy gap: guns, cars, drugs, and infections academic.oup.com/pnasnexus/ar...

Benjamin Mazer @mazer.us · 09/10/2025
RFK Jr and his MAHA crew say public health needed to be gutted because of lack of trust. Yet trust has only declined since Kennedy took over. But like everything else, Kennedy will ask you not to believe your own eyes and ears.
020
Benjamin Mazer @mazer.us · 09/10/2025
The American public continues to trust doctors far more than RFK Jr. So who is to blame for the ongoing decline in trust of our public health infrastructure? The data speaks for itself.

This is the kind of stuff our new top vaccine policy makers are choosing to read. I take the bold position that not every single doctor on earth is paid off by Big Pharma.
