Second route of fortunes weave off to a great start

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 4h

Fabio hitting some of the rawest most emotional lines, but then following up with this made me stop for a minute laughing, probably the best va in the game so far #fefwspoilers

Continuing on because this game is a character artists dream (and Graves is one of those characters *exactly* to my tastes to an uncanny degree) #deadlock

I am just leaving these as sketches because these collages are so so much work, but here's Miriel and Jack keeping in touch after she reanimates him. I also realised he teeters on the very edge of monsterfucking territory and I dig it

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

And the complimentary shitpost for characterisation, the dynamic is funny but so messy "I made my homunculus alright so I could totally try the same thing with a human body" (Miriel loves Cheirie much, much more)

Jacob "Jack" Knox, a known brute and criminal who suddenly disappeared for a number of weeks, presumed dead, until reappearing with unnatural modifications and seemingly an inability to be killed.

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

He’s a shitty pathetic guy who sucks but here’s a first look at ‘Jack’, alongside the witch who saved his life (against his will), Miriel. They have a fucked up little history which I’ll probably have to relegate to tumblr for detail, but it’s fun to flesh out Miriel a little more (make her worse)

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Felt like I stepped out of my comfort zone a little with this, but I had a lot of fun figuring it out. This shit ain’t nothing to him #deadlock

(WIP) Remembering that hats are a bitch to draw, but continuing the fanart streak They really went off with hobo vampire

Unfinished sketch of Drifter from Deadlock

This is Mavis vs the various Bölverk antagonists, her personality that has emerged is really entertaining to me This ethereal looking mage from the spirit forest, who is so seriously tired of all this and is making it everyone’s problem

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

A practice sketch of Limstella, probably hitting this pose right before something spontaneously combusts

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Yup I think Dante is high in the running for my favourite character, she knows what the fuck is up She’s just a dramatic flamboyant writer, I feel so seen…

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

But yeah I’ve only had Dante Fire Emblem in my army for one chapter but I will carry her to the end and give my life

I haven’t actually had the chance to give the game a shot yet but I like this character a pretty normal amount #deadlock

(WIP) See, doing fanart instills an obligation in me to do things I don’t want to do, such as drawing a detailed gun

Another day, another hangover, another doodle of Abigail in a cute contemporary outfit. With also the best look at what her hair partially looks like from the back I think. And nothing else of note.

The Pre-Descension lore of Bölverk without context

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I’ve wanted to design a sort of propaganda-style poster for Vetrheim (and Camilla) for a bit, and they definitely seem like the type Cue the war drums

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

For the sake of everyone in the vicinity, Abigail and Cynthia probably shouldn’t meet

Comedic sketches of my OCs, Abigail, Cynthia, Marianne, and Beatrix.

Abigail and Cynthia are standing side by side, triumphantly atop a small cliff. Abigail says: “Cower before us, forces of darkness!”, and Cynthia follows up: “The warriors of Hope and Light shall prevail!”

Marianne cringes, covering her face with one hand, and says: “oh my god…”, as Beatrix looks on in bewilderment and says: “There’s two of them…”

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

This ridiculous graphic is now a perfect square so that's it. No more characters. what the fuck is just changing the number of rows/columns

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Finally finished designing them, Beatrix and Cynthia are the right-hands of Idus’ Marchioness (who I’ll also have to design). Black cat + Orange cat dynamic, but also two dumb bitches going “exactlyyyy”

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I just noticed I messed up Nohria on the latest map of Omnia, there shouldn't be a land bridge between Idus+Ferrdegard and the rest of Nohria, they should technically appear as two seperate landmasses, based on the most updated version which I believe is this paper sketch

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

The designs of these characters are far from final (or even polished), but I honestly thought of this to settle on their energy, and it works. I needed a duo with a little more friction between them. They are also named now, purple is Beatrix and orange is Cynthia. They're coworkers.

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

With a bunch of characters I still want to redesign, or just develop further, my brain yet insists on putting out more bullshit ideas but can’t even conjure names let alone plots

Darcey Hildebrandt, head steward of House Heolstra for the better part of 25 years. A tutor to the house’s heirs, she is not fond of Natalya, but took a shine to both Victor and Vesper, her current ward.

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Some random, unfinished, drawings today; an Abigail doodle because it’s been a while, and then a sketch of Sonya of all people, I’ve had the itch to draw her again, I hope to manage something proper in future

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Sike I did some nsfw anyways. I think I'm done for now (and uh... so is Limstella...)

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Subverting expectations by just drawing normal cute art the morning after a night out. Shes a little discombobulated

Art of my OC, Limstella, a drow elf. She looks a little weary, and is stretching out her arms and hands while lifting one leg slightly

110

Limstella finding a way to pass the time on a long journey…

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

The most grey colour schemes I’ve ever put down, but I swear it’s just the colour-coding of their god “Lady” Deirdre and Sir Arvis, followers of The Weaver

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

For some reason I’m drawing duos lately (featuring my slightly scuffed posing process) Also these aren’t new characters, they have appeared in the Omnia campaign, but I’m giving them a Bölverk coat of paint

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Right, so do we think that's enough characters for one setting or nah

headshots of (very nearly almost) every single character I've created for Bölverk (36 in total). Current omissions include Raymond and Anifriede because I want to redesign/redraw them at some point.

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

After the ordeal of map making I almost forgot that I did new blorbo text posts, for enrichment and to establish vibes, of course

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

This is how I feel drawing a map and labelling things that have existed in my head for all of 15 seconds

The young poet/novelist Llewelyn Viera, and his recently met bodyguard Cordhalia Weiss. Llewelyn’s story involves his work leading him to acquire a strange tome of ancient, unknowable origins, resulting in all sorts of dangers which Cordhalia takes it upon herself to safeguard against.

100

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

(WIP) I think I neglected to mention that Cordhalia is about 7 feet tall

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

So, this is Cordhalia, and she carries the exact energy you might expect. I will, later, draw her with armour on, and actually talk about her character

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

(WIP) repeatedly going “oh noo” as this character takes form (and… as a first outing of drawing this character, doing light nsfw… because I felt like it)

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

More concepting sketches for… more characters… we’re on subplot G or something. A scrappy writer who finds an evil book, and a worshipper of the blood goddess who decides to look after him

My Legends Z-A trainer, who I sketched and posed before giving up on Mega Banette, though I decided I’d keep the goofy doodle. The Banette is nicknamed Evelyn, of course.

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

For some reason drawing certain pokemon is harder than you might expect so have this hilariously scrungly Banette (not a serious attempt, the only serious attempt was Mega Banette and oh lawd)

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

After working on and off for a few days, the first full design for Kalin, the late leader of the mercenary band that Marianne once belonged to, her mentor and functional father. He passes 2-3 years before the beginning of Bölverk’s present time, but hadn’t seen Marianne for about 10 beforehand

110

Shaded update + bonus version for this morning

010

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

The holy hungover art that I’ve almost missed a bus doing Carla being hit by that clarity and realising what she’s bargained for with Natalya

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Oh boy, we’re concepting some more, very minor, characters. We have the mentor figure to both Marianne and Cassandra, who uh, is dead by the time of any story, so rip. And then a retainer to House Heolstra, because I wanted a stern, older lady to scratch an itch left by Captain Brooke

110

Max McSpooky 💛💀💜🖤 @mayrinae.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

More practise of a lycanthrope, and actually detailing her design more besides vague werewolf-shaped blobs

Another AU (/just normal canon alt design?) for Lilliana, it’s her in adulthood, anywhere up to her 30s, and hopefully in a much better place. Due to the immortality of dragons, I imagine Lilliana would live for an extremely long time, if not forever, which adds its own associated layers of tragedy

010
