And yeah, a lot of that comes from me disliking Apollo Justice as a game. It's not interesting to me as a story and just feels... flimsy. It's a dead-end of the series yet DD pushes on to tell a story anyway, and I can't blame DD for that, even I like elements of AJ. Phoenix & Trucy matter so much!

I love Dual Destinies so much but I can't help but feel it could have been way better. The biggest issue I have with the game is Apollo Justice getting so much focus. Klavier's back, Apollo has a friend now, he has more play time than Athena, Perceive returns, etc. I really question why he's here.

There's all these compositions of the Sonic 3 soundtrack that act as alternate versions of it, but I want to hear a version where Masato Nakamura was still involved, without just reusing from the first two games.

At this point, Xbox and PlayStation feel like negatives to the gaming industry. I really do wonder what it would be like if they pulled out completely.

Finding a new thing to love is great but it does suck seeing what happened to the old thing when it keeps getting promised. Yeah this is about Ace Attorney

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Hey [game series that hasn't gotten something new in a while], why not play [game that plays similarly but doesn't have the same world, characters, soundtrack that people love the former for] instead?

Despite Capcom's amazing IP catalog, I believe their best character writing, storytelling, and music work is in Ace Attorney (and by association Ghost Trick). Until they find a way to make it relevant, regardless of everything else they have going for them, they have failed as a publisher.

After talking with people in and outside of it, I've decided to post the application link for my Discord server, Reclaimed. It was created about a year ago by a group of #AceAttorney fans looking for a chill and welcoming place to talk about the games and anything else.

000

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

It reminds me of the quote from Janet Tsu where they said something like "AAI2 translation before I retire I hope" when it was less than a year away.

Might post here if there's interest?

Been thinking about the AA fandom and genuinely think I might open applications for my Discord. Did a quick clean up and refresh of it and others seem happy about the idea of meeting new people.

Still not over how good Athena and Kay look in that Ace Attorney 25th art... I wish the PWT gang got to use their modern designs but it's just nice to see them again. Apollo's there.

All but one of these characters has a proxy or is literally on my Tomodachi LTD island and sometimes I think I should fix that

000

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Yeah, it's tricky. I almost feel like I should open up my server a bit more and put out a little "hey we're looking to expand a bit" post to see if any folks on AA Bsky want to join so it's not repeating that Medium issue. Just had a couple folks join from UC and they've fit in well so

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Been in there before, can't say I really enjoyed the way the moderation team and certain members have acted towards (real) people I care about but maybe that's changed? Either way, something a bit more close knit is more my style.

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I guess I want to be more out there, be a positive part of the community at a time when it's easy to be negative.

100

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I do have my own discord that is nice and chill but it's not just about Ace Attorney and I wouldn't want people to feel isolated from THEIR friends.

100

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

This makes the trilogy re-release the 21st best selling Capcom game, above games like Dragons Dogma 2, Dead Rising 2, Okami, and Mega Man 11. Good to know the series is still taking in new fans.

000

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Oh, that confused me then, thanks for correcting me.

010

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

As much as I want to commiserate over Ace Attorney still having nothing, I want to instead continue loving the series. Is there any places on Discord for it? Most places I've been are quiet, or uncomfortable.

100

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I've been waiting 10 years for a new game, they say they're going to talk about Ace Attorney during the title lineup, and then they just show art and merch. How long is it gonna take to actually try with this series?

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Yeah, I always felt like they were just there when there's so many other characters in Academy who have a way better dynamic. Might be my JuniThena bias though.

010

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

To be fair, how much of that is because it's AJ:AA

110

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Agreed, alongside the romantic dynamic of Aura and Metis, I can only see Blackquill and Athena as some kind of family, considering the care they have for each other. I think it's a symptom of most protagonists being shipped with their prosecutorial counterparts.

110

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

But I love these games, and I love speaking to people about these games. I just wish it was easier to connect to people.

000

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

I guess in a way I'm just describing internet ettiquette and the way it's faded into a dunking contest.

100

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

But there also feels like a specific way to be when it comes to fans of the series, otherwise you're one of the bad ones. Just disagree normally.

110

MaybeGreg @maybegreg.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

While I don't miss the servers I was in, I do miss being in Ace Attorney places. I feel like I made so many friends there not just because of AA but because of other shared interests too. Having a server with like 60 people because of the games, and still feeling like I can make more is just bliss.
