Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 29/09/2026what I *do* love is that chapter 7 is a full-circle moment back to I'll Have What He's Having at Aspire, tho I suspect I should finish reading first and see how many more there are. 010
Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 27/09/2026@adibkhorram.bsky.social I'm devastated that Isn't He Romantic is only available as trade paperback; now it doesn't match the rest of the Love on the Vine books I own! 120

Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I'm losing my mind because I pre-ordered a book months ago that came out on Tuesday the 22nd and it still hasn't shown up at my house and I've been looking forward to it for basically a year and publishers and editors and authors are all telling me how important it is to pre-order books as a signal 200

Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 16/07/2026Not that any of this matters: the concept of trade surplus and deficit only matters if you have a single sovereign, which Republics famously don't. 010
Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 16/07/2026So you might as well produce as much fine linen as you can, to fulfill your domestic need, and then any exports give you the opportunity to purchase wine that you wouldn't have access to otherwise. 100
Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 16/07/2026It doesn't matter whether France sells more or less wine to Scotland than Scotland ships fine linen to France. No matter the trade surplus or deficit, Scotland can't produce any wine on its own at all! 100
Max (RBMC) @maxrbmc.bsky.social · 16/07/2026Also if they are going to be neoliberals elsewhere they might as well be consistent: trade surplus vs deficit doesn't matter. They should read Adam Smith's wine and linen between Scotland and France example. 100
