He was savagely optimistic and had such an amazing ability to see humor in every situation. No matter the issue I had he’d always say “We’ll figure it out. It’ll be ok.” And we always figured it out and it was always ok. He told me he was proud of me every single time we talked, and I felt it.

My father transcended last week. His physical presence is gone but I’ll carry him inside me for the rest of my life. I don’t feel robbed. There was nothing left unsaid between us. He gave me everything I needed, but I’ll really miss talking to him and hearing him laugh.

Feeling very blessed that I’ll be able to hear this insane man’s laugh many more times thanks to an incredible medical procedure. My dad had heart surgery in 2011 and the artificial valve he was given stopped doing the job recently and open heart surgery is a terrifying prospect for someone his age
