THANK YOU IKE! I'm gettin' there, Descent is constantly changing in my brain, it's finding its shape but great heavens is this a process and a half

110

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 12/03/2025

So I'm digging deeper into Descent in terms of writing and I have a few things folks might find interesting as I plot out scene-by-scene and discover reoccurring themes that are popping up as I go and... "Cannibalism" (or "Hunger") and "Queerness" have naturally floated to the surface. Oh boy.

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/03/2025

Bluesky please don’t crunch this image… As I said before, been working on writing for “Descent” #jayvik ! The general beats, the bricks are in place. Carefully moving through it. If anyone is at all curious how my brain works with writing, this a peek into that.

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 24/02/2025

I’m so excited to watch it… I FEAST on every crumb of Arcane critique Local threads into his videos and this sounds like a full on buffet. Thank god. thank god

050

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

the full thing... next Descent project I think will be more writing!

1476

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 12/02/2025

I've finally done it. Descent #Jayvik but biblically accurate to Arcane style - or as accurate as I can get!

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

This went from Jayce and his leg and not wanting to be a burden to “how these two are going to handle returning to society and how it can be so much worse than the brutal, unforgiving, but ultimately indifferent, wilderness”. I yap! I yap myself in circles

080

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

make up an enemy, or a “danger” to their way of life, to fight to justify their absolute dominance and violence. He’s NEVER seen this before 😐 riiiight

170

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

Viktor would get even a WHIFF of the Solari’s zealotry and their belief that ethnic cleansing is the answer and “destroy all Lunari” and he would be so disgusted but not surprised. Because of course those who hold all the power want to quell a made up opposing side. Of course the powerful have to +

150

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

I’m still workshopping it, but the idea that Viktor and Jayce are eventually found by Rakkor is certainly on the brain. I’m unsure if they’d find themselves with the Solari or Lunari, or something in between, but their dislike for the Solari would be a guarantee that’s for certain

160

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

Anyways! You wonder how he gets that leg brace later on in their journey? With no forges? Guess who canonically can bend and shape metal with his magic fingers man I’m lowkey pondering giving him a like… Solari type of metal material. Golden leg brace⁉️

190

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

Jayce in early descent gets flare ups with his leg, it’s getting irritated, isn’t getting better but he doesn’t know how to tell Viktor. He CAN’T tell Viktor, everything is already so bad, so challenging, he can’t fathom becoming another ‘problem’ on the heap. Don’t speak to me…..

1182

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 03/02/2025

one pain for another, really. One life-long problem for another.

010

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 03/02/2025

Exactly! Something as parasitic as the Hexcore doesn’t die easily. Or at all. It becomes another thing that Viktor must learn to live with. In my mind, it was a swap. His respiratory chronic illness may be gone, but it was only replaced by the Hexcore’s lingering influence and demands. Trading +

210

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 02/02/2025

I've defined Viktor absolutely glows upon contact and that his connection to the Arcane is the source, but how he presents visually is something I never actually explored or set in stone! So I'm dabbling with some concepts... Excuses to draw them getting cozy together so I can figure it out 😎

000

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

Oh my god Who said that? Must’ve been the wind…..

110

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

some Descent.... concepts. The kissing was purely indulgent (and non-canon to Descent thus far; I MUST stay focused as much as I want them to smooch), but I'm trying to figure out how Viktor "glows" when he touches or is touched. hell yeah my favorite glow bug #Jayvik

313821

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

in him, so when he uses and/or fosters a space for his “evolved” state, he becomes more machine herald. Whereas if he embraces his humanity, he “devolves” from that machine state into a more human form… A constant question ringing in his ears of “Do you want to be a God? Or a man?”

120

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

I feel it’s reminiscent! Because he kind of “took” ascension (homeboy decided to be a God through sheer will and a cocoon), I wanted to twist it a bit & lean into his whole thing of evolution. Like a messed up joke from the Arcane to have him keep his greatest mistake. It’s like a living thing

120

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

Amen! That’s beautifully put. Viktor finally having to put in the repetitions towards (not self destructive) change. That man destroyed himself the entire two seasons of Arcane, he gets to learn to love himself a bit here… which is synonymous with letting Jayce love him. I’m going to eat them

110

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

EXACTLY! Also I’m glad, I love yapping when I see you in my notifications LMAO I’m very excited to explore how they’ll handle this solitary segment of their travels, but boy do I love when there is a great internal journey alongside the external journey... they have a lot to unpack 😭

110

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

Forgot to share this one, so actually there is some Descent work to share today. Not quite done with the piece but I liked Jayce’s smile. So does Viktor 🙁❤️ #jayvik

29517

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

boyfriend and his freak boyfriend being like “damn despite everything he really does love me. Am I worried for his well being because of that? I absolutely am. But also…” I’m torn on whether or not they’ll smooch. We’ll see… it’ll either be a hug or a kiss or both. Descent is so on the brain.

170

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

Like after all this time of separation, Jayce sees Viktor and he’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. The last time they saw each other they duked it out? Yep. That did happen. But the love overwhelms the fear. EVERY time. Their reunion really is just Jayce being able to love his freak +

150

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

Sorry for the radio silence! Descent is still on the brain, but new job and school starting soon has been rocking my shit - once my schedule is stable I hope to get back into it…. Been thinking about the inevitable reunion and kicking my feet

1120

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

YES! Can't wait for him to accept both halves (or perhaps all versions) of himself. Has to look each one in the eye to get there... He'll get there one day 😔

130

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

additional! Working on his full body concept design. hell yeah boy

27914

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

Viktor half transformed concept for Descent #jayvik ... Post-divorce fight mode. I almost want to make him more bug mode. We'll see. His body will be very bug mode though!

731058

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 05/01/2025

A little trial and error never hurt… anyone… 🤔…. Okay maybe it hurt someone

020

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

oh boy DOES he experience it. he's the cause of it and he's under Viktor when it happens, my friend... Viktor actually half transforms, he jerks himself away before he can go full - but I'm braining out how a HALF-bug Viktor will look still LMAO

130

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Divorce so bad Viktor nearly goes monster Machine Herald mode again

310

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

Some more Jayce outfits for Descent #jayvik. Bundling up for the chilly climate of Mount Targon! Viktor is next. Outfit 1 is for the immediate start of Descent, Outfit 2 is during the first steps of their travels and pre-fight. Outfit 3 will be divorce fits LOL

BABY ANIMAL THERAPY‼️

030

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

he lets himself look absolutely smitten when he knows Jayce can’t see it ❤️

010

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

wip Descent #Jayvik , some happy/cute stuff... Jayce found out what a baby Bolor looks like. He wants to keep one.

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 01/01/2025

I lovingly describe Descent as “Javik getting the Dark Souls experience”. Yes, everything is going wrong AND you’re fighting for your life but it’s also perfectly normal at this point. The only thing that can hurt you anymore is Emotions (and it proceeds to do that too)

1221

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

Which ALSO brings about the warring with his body. Less augmentation means more struggles, more of his old self. Disease, bad leg, the whole nine yards. It's a back and forth he'll struggle with!

110

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

Something I'll get into later but his augmentation is tied with his struggles with perfection and his flesh is tied with his humanity. There is an ebb and a flow that comes with what happens when he uses the lingering power of his augmentation. Less use? it recedes. More use? back with a vengeance.

310

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

That means a lot to hear! I'm glad you like my little project

000

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

Subtle revisits of Viktor's Descent design. - Longer hair - Red inner side of scarf - Body is entirely augmented aside from chest (where Jayce had shot through him)

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

He takes falling seriously. When he falls, he falls HARD. In love? From the sky? He doesn’t discriminate LMAO

Song is The Only Way is Down by Thomas Newman! you can see why I chose the song haha

A surprise bit of Descent #Jayvik for y'all today, wasn't supposed to do anything today but had a burst of motivation and rocked these next few shots together. Music and a voice line added... (I will continue to apologize for any audio normalizing that sounds funky, Bluesky is ruining my audio)

1122157

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

Oh well holy shit thanks y’all for 200 followers! Still very unfamiliar with how to engage with social media, as someone who hasn’t done anything other than lurk on socials for about 5+ years - but I will continue to churn out more Descent and occasionally share other works.

0130

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

I WILL cry but for real thank you! It means a lot ❤️

000

M. @maximmaxim.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

thank you, Ike 🫵❤️
