So I'm digging deeper into Descent in terms of writing and I have a few things folks might find interesting as I plot out scene-by-scene and discover reoccurring themes that are popping up as I go and... "Cannibalism" (or "Hunger") and "Queerness" have naturally floated to the surface. Oh boy.

Jayce in early descent gets flare ups with his leg, it’s getting irritated, isn’t getting better but he doesn’t know how to tell Viktor. He CAN’T tell Viktor, everything is already so bad, so challenging, he can’t fathom becoming another ‘problem’ on the heap. Don’t speak to me…..

I lovingly describe Descent as “Javik getting the Dark Souls experience”. Yes, everything is going wrong AND you’re fighting for your life but it’s also perfectly normal at this point. The only thing that can hurt you anymore is Emotions (and it proceeds to do that too)

Descent notes for self: - Viktor does not come back to the material plane whole. He’s in there, but he’s also still deeply impacted by the humanity he left behind - he’s a husk in the beginning - Jayce does everything he can to see that light in his eyes once more - must rediscover parts of himself

I'm feelin' "Descent" for the Jayvik Post-S2 story. Very straight up and exactly what their story is meant to be about. A humbling journey, intended to be contemplative for them both as they aren't faced with the trials and tribulations of society and Piltover/Zaun... it's them and Mount Targon.

Jayce details for the Post-S2 story: - Due to being marked with wild runes, sporadic and seemingly unpredictable pains will come from his left wrist or ankle (where he had the infection) - Jayce can’t see the arcane like Viktor sees it, he more feels it. It is a tangible thing to him (1/2)

Viktor details for the Post-S2 AU: - white/opalescent pupils, causing him to see threads of arcane present in the world (i.e. Jayce & him have auras) - right leg + both hands remains metallic. Often times is dormant - other times, in response to injury/blood/arcane it gets "hungry" (1/2)

For the Post-S2 Jayvik story, the idea is that they are dumped out of the Arcane - onto the very peak of Mount Targon A flipped story from so many visits to Targon being to seek glory or enlightenment, theirs is a story a reflection of that haunted descent from the divine
