My energy level to write alt text varies by the day. Having something at least generally descriptive still helps, even if it doesn't capture everything. Sometimes all I can add is "this character is doing this thing in this context", because transcribing handwriting or multiple scenes can be a lot.

If you want to get in the habit of using alt text, but often forget to add it, you can toggle a setting in the Accessibility section that says "require alt text before posting". I have this enabled so I don't forget, it's very helpful.
