Perth, Western Australia. Want to connect to people interested in talking about the climate catastrophe hurtling towards us. Also starting an association with the goal of trying to do something about it from a community driven and bottom up approach.

For me, one of the more disturbing aspects of our society is how much we tolerate and accept the mass psychological manipulation of our children by large corporate interests. This often comes in the form of regular advertising targeted at children, or these sorts of outreach programs.

I've seen little commentary on how global government intervention on age verification has created a new market of digital id facilitators, nor the dangers posed by government mandated digital ID being handled by private market forces.

Rewilding my garden and documenting animals. This tiny spider dropped down onto me from a tree.

The idea of a natural wilderness, as somehow independent of human intervention, is a bit of an illusion. In Australia, the "bush" is a product of tens of thousands of years of human intervention and management. We're even learning the amazon rainforest is likely a result of this intervention. (1/2)

How might I best go about propagating these broad beans?

James C Scott suggested that one possible way in which states may have formed is as protectionist rackets demanding tribute. Normalised with time. Also St Augustine's tale of the emperor who asks the pirate "how dare he molest the sea" "how dare you molest the whole world" replies the pirate.

If regenerative agroforestry began to be practiced on all the public park and verge spaces we'd effectively be able to create a food abundance not reliant on any fragile logistics systems. The historical reasons this does not exist today is complex. Put simply; abundance is not profitable.

Documenting new bugs I see in my garden. No pesticides/herbicides. Rewilding with humans as part of the natural world. As part of that wild. Regenerative agroforestry.

Regenerative agroforestry is an important part of a decent and dignified future. It's a form of agriculture that's highly resistant to climate change and creates huge positive externalities. Here's my experiment at home. Broad beans, apple tree, mandarin tree, in ground worm farm all interacting.
Example of home agroforestry. In ground worm farm, fruit trees, broad beans. All interacting and working together to cover each others weaknesses.

This story seems overblown to me. From what I've seen, no personal data of any kind was accessed. Add it to the pile of AI hype hoaxes? Not sure.

I don't believe there is any legal or moral precedent that suggests LLMs are able of taking responsibility for anything. I appreciate here that ABC has said OpenAI hack. OpenAI is the responsible party. Not the AI agent. Though their byline needs to be updated it seems.

If you're in Perth Western Australia, and concerned about climate change and the broader incompatibility our economic and political systems seem to have with reality, please reach out. I'm part of an association trying to help build the seeds of a better future right now.

I find it disturbing that albanese here appears to apply responsibility for these acts onto the AI agent itself, and not OpenAI who designed and deployed it. The moral and legal precedents here are fairly clear I think. AI agents are not capable of holding any responsibility. OpenAI is responsible.

It seems more of Australia's economy is shifting to service an increasingly small narrow control of resources.
