Screenshot of a tweet by Pope Leo XIV:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

I have been thinking a lot about South Africa in the dying days of apartheid. I was part of the last cohort of white students to get called up for military service; I objected, destroyed my papers and did not go. I spent a few years terrified that they would come looking for me, but they never did.
This poster is an offset litho in black, produced by the ECC, Cape Town This poster depicts conscripts who demanded the right not to serve in the SADF. The text reads: "WE CALL FOR A JUST PEACE IN OUR LAND : WE BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE MORAL RIGHT OF SOUTH AFRICANS TO EXERCISE FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE AND CHOOSE NOT TO SERVE IN THE SADF : WE CALL FOR AN END TO CONSCRIPTION". This poster was digitised by Specialised Archival Solutions in 2009. Reproduced in "Images of Defiance: South African Resistance posters in the 1980s" on page 131 (number 232) of the 1991 SAHA / Ravan Press edition and the 2004 SAHA / STE Publishers edition. It is also included in the SAHA virtual exhibition - 'The Future is Ours: Commemorating Youth in the Struggle'.

Try this:
Windows 11/Copilot
Right-click the Copilot entry in the Start
menu and select Uninstall. If that option
isn’t there, head over to your installed
apps list (Start – Settings – Apps) and
uninstall Copilot from there.
In some builds of Windows 11, Copilot is
stuck into the OS, so uninstall might not
work, you can toggle it off via the
settings: Start – Settings – Personaliza-
tion – Taskbar – turn off Copilot File
Explorer has some AI built into it which
can be turned-on accidentally. To re-
move. Start – Settings – Privacy & Security - Click to do

Currently working my way through Through the Looking Glass an anti-trans attack document masquerading as a report on trans activism and the capture of children's literature and library services. The recommendations contained within are a dead giveaway for their censorship and banning aims
Stop publishing trans-activist literature – fiction as well as non-fiction – for all age groups catered to by children’s publishing, up to and including YA.

Children’s librarians must stop shelving trans-activist titles.

Librarians and booksellers must stop recommending trans-activist titles to parents and children

Instead of publishing trans-activist titles, children’s publishing should concentrate on putting out excellent stories with captivating characters

The CEOs of publishing houses, their imprint heads and publishing directors should be mandating that acquisitions lists are broadened out again to attract genuinely diverse and excellent submissions

Children’s publishing and the library services must move away from cancel culture by implementing robust HR practices

Educational publishing, libraries and schools must collaboratively observe statutory KCSIE and RSHE guidance, ensuring age-inappropriate and factually-incorrect, trans-activist books no longer find their way into children’s hands
