BLOOD DEBTS (1985) has garnered attention over the years due to its abrupt ending set to bizarrely jaunty music. The now-infamous ending came however as a result of censorship laws in the Philippines which among other things, forbade films from glorifying criminals.

Nobody who wants to travel sustainably by train should be prevented from doing so because it's cheaper to drive or fly. Here's what we heard from one commuter this week. We're campaigning for rail fares to be fair and affordable.

A commuter from Cumbria says, "It costs me £13.50 for a 15-minute train ride to work, which isn't much different to driving my diesel van and paying to park. I'd prefer to take the train, but it's working out quite a lot of money!"

A nice afternoon at the @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social Cellar Club Live event at the Water Rats near King’s Cross in London; it comprised of interviews of three actresses who were involved in horror (amongst other genres) plus a presentation on why horror films appeal to many audiences.

Great day out onboard the Retro Cestrian Bard railtour (courtesy of Retro Railtours) from Stockport to Stratford-upon-Avon. During the 2.5 hours I’ve had there, I visited the Butterfly Farm, went onboard the ferris wheel, and lastly boarded the chain boat across the River Avon. Tiring but joyful.

A long but grand day out onboard the 125 Group’s ‘Summer Riviera’ railtour from Stockport to Paignton and back. Enjoyed a round trip on the steam railway (travelled onboard the observation saloon one way) and spent some time on the sea front afterwards.
