I just checked my voter registration status. I live in VA & they make it really easy to check your status, to register, or to update your registration. vote.elections.virginia.gov. If you live somewhere other than VA you should be able to Google "check my voter registration in xx." We got this.

Health care in this country is a joke. I've had 4 previous back surgeries (one the result of a life-threatening site infection). Now that I need a 5th I can't see the surgeon who did the 1st 4 b/c he doesn't participate with the plan I purchased for myself after losing my employer based coverage.

It just occurred to me that my youngest has no connection whatsoever to Mississippi. His father was from there, and his older siblings were born there, but Peter was born in my home state (Virginia) & only visited MS a few times before his Dad & I divorced. Seeing a lot of "how did DJT vote as a convicted felon" posts. Old article, but basically FL defers to the rules of the state of conviction. In his case, he was convicted in NY. NY allows felons to vote as long as they aren't incarcerated at the time of the election. Google, people. It's free.

All I can say after paying this month's electric bill is - thank god ( & Dominion VA Power) for budget billing. Instead of $600 (for a 1200sq.ft. house) I'm paying $300. Of course, next year's budget amount will be higher b/c it'll be based on this year, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I am not convinced that sanity will ever resume in American politics, but if we are to stand a chance we need a better mechanicism than impeachment for dealing with rogue Presidents & their stooges. Discovered last night that oldest girlchild's bio mom has not checked on her even once during this pregnancy. Due date is 11/16. I raised her & love her like my own (she's my deceased son's oldest) so she's not alone in this, but I'm not Mom & no matter how much she shrugs it off, I know it hurts.
