Only right that as a brewer, I root for the Milwaukee Brewers. After watching nearly all of their games in the second half of the season, I'm attached to this team. Hope they go all the way.

All punk, death rock, all goth, when I was young, in the 80s, I wore mostly black, but that ended once I'd been out of Mom's house a few years. Because I got cats. Fur is the doom of black clothes. All these years later, I have a black cat (Nyx) & a torti (Efi) and they're better than black clothes.

I based this Blender project on this specific ray gun. I didn't make it up. Found nearly ortho images and dropped those into Blender and modeled based on that. This original toy has no flashing light like I put in the red plastic area, but the gears do spin when the trigger is pulled, as I animated.

The turntable vid has the trigger pull animated as well as the spinning of the gears and a light in the red plastic area, but for the stills I skipped that. These are a little higher quality render.

1950s ray gun done. I'll do a little thread. Turntable attached. I'm new to Blender. Been doing tutorials, but those get boring, so I did this little thing on the side, from reference. I did everything in Blender—modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, compositing. —continues #blender

Here, I've applied a gradient map in Clip Studio Paint, which adjusts all colors globally in the image based on the value of the colors. I turned the gradient map down to 90% to preserve small color variances for color selection and color variety in the final image.

Here, I adjusted ONLY the levels of the flats. I haven't actually made any color choices at this point. I used the flats that were delivered, and adjusted levels. Like Jesus would do.

Work-in-progress in Blender, a new app to me—modeling/texturing/lighting a vintage ray gun from the 1950s. Fun. I've fallen in love with the UI. Great app. A few more things to texture, then output render passes, composite, and call it a day. This is how it looks at the moment. #blender

Comic page with four horizontal panels. Panel one, a man holds up a glowing gauntlet to block bullets. Panel two, the camera turns to reveal police shooting at him. Panel three, wearing that gauntlet, he swings and in one arc, hits three cops in the heads and their heads burst. Panel four, he punches and the shockwave sends cops and their van flying.

Drinking a 17 year old Chimay. 2 years older than my son. It's oxidized, of course, but still has some interesting things going as that oxidation creates some interactions with the maltiness. The age softened it the alcohol perception. Doesn't taste like 9% abv.

Never used Blender before, so I did a tutorial from CG Boost to learn the UI. Needs more tweaking, but this'll do for now to just warm up to the app. I've used Maya and SoftImage XSI professionally on movies, and Modo as a hobby, but never Blender. The app seems pretty great.

After four days typing for forty or more minutes per session, I've wrapped up typing out the George Saunders story "Tenth of December" in full, all 8,633 words. Took about three hours and seven minutes, so 46 words/minute, which is pretty slow for me. My usual is 60. But there you have it.

When the Photoshop layer was changed to Divide color mode, it showed this difference only between PS and CSP. When I zoomed in, though, these colors were all in the blacks, and the differences were no more than 1% difference in the k tones. Not something any of us can see.
