It is demonstrably proven, via multiple studies as well as commonsense, that preventing young people explore and acknowledge their own identity has massively harmful impacts. Labour reviving Section 28 against trans young people will cause untold harm, just as the original Section 28 did.

New article on #LGBTQ+ rights and Canadian foreign policy. It uses a new analytical framework for assessing states as "good allies", which should help analysis of such policies elsewhere. An ambiguous ally: Canada’s pro-LGBTQ+ foreign policy
by Stephen Brown,Bartosz Neumann,Morgane Rosier & Momin Rahman

ABSTRACT
Since 2015, Canada has become one of the most important defenders of the rights of sexual and gender minorities around the world. This article analyzes Canada’s record as a pro-LGBTQ+ foreign policy actor, focusing on its actions between 2015 and 2025. More specifically, we explore the degree to which the Canadian government’s strategies and practices reflect characteristics of a “good ally” in its relationship with LGBTQ+ civil society organizations. We develop a framework of “good allyship” as an analytical tool, based on three components – the demonstration of commitment, the institutionalization of support and relationship building – and then apply it to the Canadian case. We find that Canada occupies an ambiguous position as an ally. Although Canada has demonstrated good commitment, it might not be sustained, its institutionalization is limited, and the relationships fall short of equitable, long-term partnerships.

In 2019, the British government circulated a call for evidence to learn about the experiences of people with variations in sex characteristics. After 7 years, the report has finally been published and exposes the stigma, shame, and secrecy facing intersex folk. Read here: www.gov.uk/government/c...
“I have experienced prejudice when trying to access gendered sports spaces, because I don’t easily fit anywhere. It feels like an unsafe space, and I have felt intimidated and uncomfortable when I have to use men’s spaces. I don’t want to use men’s spaces and I don’t feel like a man. I am an intersex woman and I don’t want to have to change the way I look to fit in with people’s ideas of what people should look like who access women’s spaces.” Identify in another way, 45 to 54 years, East Midlands.
