There’s a German word, “Fernweh,” which is like homesickness but for a faraway place, maybe one you’ve never been to. I need a similar word that’s like nostalgia for the world we were promised when we were younger that never came to fruition.

Literally one of the best parts of working at a local bakery with a single location is that everything is authentic. There's no corporate anything to it. Just a few people making bread and sweets by hand and selling them locally.

Made some pepperoni rolls for my father-in-law. People make fun of West Virginia, but I don’t see their states having such a perfect state food.

Pepperoni roll on a plate. It is golden brown, pepperonis and cheese swirled in the dough with a sprinkling of spices on top. It looks yummy.
