That seems like particularly bad timing with the grants and enrollment declines Do you have a lot of these "country club expenses" like pristine grounds and various non-edu services? Those seem like natural things to reduce when possible, but maybe too much student complaint

Why do many businesses in poor countries look overstaffed? Experiments in Uganda show employers and workers prefer redistribution via work to cash even for no-value tasks. Workfare-like incentives, reciprocity, and dignity shape firm size and productivity. buff.ly/AXDnHcj

The growth of private credit has often been attributed to tighter banking regulation and low policy rates. Such things certainly played a role early on, but they are difficult to reconcile with the rapid growth in private credit since 2020, when rates went up and regulation, if anything, loosened

Here's a post I wrote about the economics of accessibility: www.matthewthom.as/blog/economi... It explains why markets fail people with disabilities, analyzes the argument that accessibility mandates prevent valuable projects, and presents a solution to fix that concern. #EconSky 🧪

I just found out about Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Kind of amazing. If you give any money to charity, you might as well use one and pay less taxes. It's one of those things that I never could have figured out if someone didn't tell me about it. So, I'm telling you about it.

The most central area with the tall buildings is in the center of several more vibrant areas. I'm not sure why that happened. It might be because of the failure of the harbor mall, but I didn't know if that's a cause or an effect... or a little of both.

Depending on how large it is, I can probably do it if the issue is just that you aren't allowed to maintain your own source and it's fine for random other people to.

The nice thing about the 16x16 flag is the way that it displays when presented at 16x16. The normal flag is just a blur at that size. There is a nice discussion of that here: github.com/uswds/uswds/...
github.com
Use a sharper, more consistent flag for banner and favicon · Issue #2190 · uswds/uswds
Transferred from #2033 to handle in-house. I think there are good arguments to make about how we display our flag. How do we best preserve the legibility of the flag at small sizes? It's impossible...

Were you the one that made the little 16px US flag image? When I first saw that, I was like "how is that not a blurry mess!?" The adjustments to the metrics are well done.
