Anytime a fresh batch drops from @ctatsu.bsky.social, it's a must grab! Can't wait to soak up the new tunes from @iksre.bsky.social, @worriedaboutsatan.bsky.social, and @rbeny.bsky.social. A great start to my Tuesday. ctatsu.bandcamp.com/album/in-all...

Many thanks to Jay Babcock for sharing Shade Songs in the latest Landline! I like the term: “new bucolic music”. Happy to be featured in such great company. 🙏✨

Shade is the form light takes when it meets something solid. A shape traced along the surface.
It's been one week since Shade Songs has arrived, along with the first glimpse of Autumn. I’m so happy to find the work resonating, and grateful for the kind words and support.

There’s a lot happening in the world that I don’t know how to make sense of. Creating music has always given me a way to spend some time somewhere else. Not necessarily to escape, but to make a little room for myself.

When I started making my new album, I wanted to create the feeling of sitting beneath a large tree.
As the music developed, I found deeper meaning in the concept of shade, exploring how we can learn from this natural balance of light and shadow.

Happy Autumn Equinox!

Sitting in the shade under a big beautiful tree always feels so good, like you’re being embraced by this massive, ancient, living being. Beyond the physical space, I’m interested in the emotional sense of comfort and safety that comes with it. Photo by Natalie Jennings

I recently discovered the music of Philadelphia artist George Shands, and was immediately compelled to purchase everything he's ever made. Raw electronic swagger, irresistible groove, and pure, expressive attitude. Not your average meditation music. Amazing! georgeshands.bandcamp.com/album/relax-...

Saddened to hear of the passing of David Fair today. The idea of making raw, self-recorded music changed my life. A true artist, he never stopped creating. I'm lucky to own two original paintings of his, which I cherish. Thanks David for the years of inspiration 👑🙏✨ www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta2D...

'Solarium Songs' came out just over a year ago. Looking back, it's been a blur. Minneapolis has been a hard place to be this year. Some seasons, just keeping each other safe is what counts. A year later, I want to mark the album properly.
Album cover for Hiram's 'Solarium Songs.' Backlit houseplant leaves fill the frame in silhouette and green, with bright sunlight flaring through the center and a small blue lens flare dot below. The title text 'HIRAM' in white and 'SOLARIUM SONGS' in pale yellow appears near the top.

Butthole Surfers Stan thread: The 90s was a wild time. For the Buttholes to finally release After the Astronaut now closes a long missing chapter. It's what happens when the acid wears off. What's next after a smash hit, a major record deal, and the cultural culmination of slacker rock?

"Música De Las Plantas," was created w/ electrical pulses from a living Dracaena trifasciata (Snake Plant), high in the Sierra de Luquillo in El Yunque rainforest. The piece traces the signals of this rich and vital ecosystem, forming the second movement of our new album.
