Example: I just replaced the group head gasket on my espresso machine and cleaned the group diffuser screen. Despite cleaning the group and backflushing regularly, this still made a noticeable improvement in the espresso I'm pulling. Take cleaning seriously!

People in the coffee world will usually give you the recommendations for better coffee as: 1. Buy good quality coffee. 2. Buy the best grinder you can afford. but I think an often unsaid 0th recommendation is to clean your equipment thoroughly and regularly.

New: The National Science Foundation is preparing to claw back some $500 million in funds from some of its core science programs in physics, math, computer science, and engineering in order to fund a project from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Not true. In their list of grievances, the Founding Fathers complained that King George III was blocking colonial laws that would promote immigration and make it easier for foreign settlers to become citizens.

tl,dr; Scientists no longer allowed to use federal funding to publish, attend meetings, or talk to the public. They cannot collaborate internationally. Grants can be cancelled for any reason, at any time, political appointees have a final say over what gets funded, and who gets funded.
