Going to just use an array of strings to start and circle back later ; which is fine this will give me more time to research and mull over these data structures

This whole time i have been trying to decide the algorithm I want to use; also realizing at the same time that the algorithm doesn't even matter because the input/output of a text buffer is the same regardless

Spending about 30 min - 1 hr a day on my markdown editor right now while i wrap up other projects ive basically been spending time getting my feet wet in with specific data structures common in text buffers (PieceTable, PieceTree, Rope and more that turned out to be irrelevant)

and I agree with the idea of pushing simple solutions as far as they can go I'm going to listen to the words of wisdom, I won't be using an array of strings specifically for the reasons highlighted in this article. Jumping forward with exploring other data structures..

The author mentions they began with an array of strings and eventually ran into memory limitations, notably when splitting on line breaks while opening large files. It's inspirational that the VS Code team took an array of strings so far to begin with

Exploring data structures for a text buffer implementation. It's a whole new world but really exciting and well documented. So far whats sticking for me is the VS Code Article code.visualstudio.com/blogs/2018/03/…

i will be building a markdown editor in public , currently in the planning phase; but will begin to share regular progress updates (expect more library author style technical posts, aka probably boring to the majority)

Modified my commit SKILL to disregard Claude's co author habit and so far it seems to be working. Idk what's happening in the git notes tho

I made an Asset Generator that uses the CLI to generate.. assets using OpenAI's API. I think it's slick because it keeps me close to the terminal github.com/matthewbub/a... Demo in the link ☝️☝️☝️ #openai #cli

I want to use get.tech for my next domain, but everything i search for is unavailable. What's weird is the same domains are available on other domain registrars

thinking of starting a series that basically documents "what makes money" in technology because I think most early stage entrepreneurs (myself included) tend to underestimate what an actual business does

I gotta say building an AI SaaS is like the most deflating experience. It's too late for me, I'm over a year in at this point cant go back now

Skype shuts down after 23 years | TechCrunch
After more than two decades, Skype is shutting down. The once-monolithic video calling platform wasn’t able to keep pace with competitors like Zoom and FaceTime, so its parent company, Microsoft, is rolling the product into Microsoft Teams. In this video, we’re sending off the iconic platform and some other legendary apps.
