Seen some talk of unethical fiction, so here’s my take

Three panel comic titled Unethical Fiction:
1. Made with AI
2. Printed on human skin
3. The author uses their profits to fund a hate group.

Be patient and kind to those who are making art right now. We're all self-funded and the richest, worst people in the world are trying to plaster over and erase our hard work.

I’ve been hearing there’s scammers impersonating Vgen legit artists and contacting old clients to push them to commission them, they use Discord most of the time too Just know I DO NOT USE DISCORD FOR COMMISSIONS AND I WILL NEVER RANDOMLY DM YOU TO RECOMMISSION ME

I want my followers and clients to be aware of this! Previously, an account impersonating me tried to lure my clients to Discord. I will not contact clients from any account other than this one. I also do not use Discord. Also, I would never directly ask a client for a commission.

… During that time, ceramics and toys were exported to the US cheaply in large quantity, all carrying the mandatory “Made in Occupied Japan” stamp. For these reasons I don’t think it was a coincidence that OOT remake’s character design bears the resemblance of ceramic figurine aesthetic. 3/

… For Japanese, it’s most likely referring to Shōwa nostalgia (昭和ノスタルジア). Moreover, post WWII (middle Shōwa) the US-led occupation attempted to deindustrialize Japan by dismantling heavy industries, forcing the nation to rely on farming, fishing, and handicraft production. 2/

Scratching my head over influencers calling OOT Link “AI” and Epona “yassified”. It seems stemming from a lack of art critique vocabulary or limited frame of reference outside of pop culture. Apart from OOT being a pun on ceramic ocarina, Aonuma said that the visual is to evoke nostalgia (懐かしさ). 1/

Kaori Mizuhashi is the original voice of Navi the fairy, a voice that many of us grew up with. It sounds like she's returning to reprise the role in the Japanese version, nearly 28 years later. Clip of an old promotional video for Ocarina of Time where she guided you, fully voiced.

The Zelda remake to me looks like it's going for, in part, Rococo and lush classic fantasy art a la the Brothers HIldebrandt, and the characters (at least the major ones) seem in large part to be trying for a porcelain figurine / doll-like look, uncanny proportions and all.
