MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 06/10/2026If Brian De Palma directed Da Mandalorian it would have happened for sure 000
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 06/10/2026They’re calling it the most moderated discord of all time 050
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 05/10/2026If they made a Star Wars golfing game I would probably name my character Jar Jar Links. Or maybe Jabba the Putt. 7290
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Played a game of Deadlock yesterday. It was awesome. I’m thinking I’m back 061
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 03/10/2026That’s why you should have gotten into video games, Pauline. Because up here, things are just getting better and better! 090
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Maybe I haven’t done enough of these “multi-campaign” Fire Emblems before, but the fact that there’s almost no difference in each character’s part 2 campaigns in story or gameplay—and the fact that they’re sooooo long—is going to cause me to burn out before seeing the end. 230
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Once a murder child, always a murder child, I guess! 020
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I know I shouldn’t be surprised by an actor’s range—like, it’s their job—but this one legit shocked me youtu.be/dkYCS2qOqvA?...youtu.beSame actor btwYouTube video by Cherry Aether 131
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 02/10/2026They should make a new Pokken game. Pokken was cool. 0131
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 01/10/2026When you think about it, Duke Nukem Forever wasn’t in development for that long 3211
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I haven’t played Deadlock in four months? But I see that update and those new characters and my heart swelled, god damn, Valve are the best character designers in the business right now 140
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Almost Famous but it’s about teenagers breaking into E3 in the early 90s to cover video games. The legendary, mythical moments of the early games industry woven into a story of self-discovery and young love over one unforgettable week in LA. I smell Oscar. 2140
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Since when does Steam give a front page banner takeover for a Pre-Purchase? Good for Ace Combat, but that’s a new one 170
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Persona 4 was initially released In Dec 2008. The 360 had already been out for 3 years. I don’t think I appreciated that at the time. 290
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Onto a second campaign in Fire Emblem and early thoughts: if you’re going to pick one of the morally compromised ladies, go with Leda over Theodora, because at least she has more aura. 040
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I know what you’re thinking and I’m just going to say it; yes, there’s never been a better time to get into Xenoverse 2 050
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I would nod politely and thoughtfully while you made your argument for like, Way to Fall but you’re not winning hearts and minds with that, no one is posting “I GOT SOMETHING IN MY THROAT” at the top of ladders in Souls games 120
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Damn, whoever sings this song is pretty good. Konami should keep an eye on them, just in case they want to sing the best song of all time in a few years 110
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 23/09/2026That’s crazy. Unless you get to the present and suddenly it costs like 50 sand to rewind (or you don’t get the power at all), like…why bother? Maybe they want to sell a harder difficulty, it feels like the game is a bajillion hours 010
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 23/09/2026It’s not about what I think of the new Fire Emblem. It’s about what the Fire Emblem Influencers think about the new Fire Emblem. 160
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 23/09/2026It doesn’t help that the game’s permadeath, at least in the part 1 campaigns, doesn’t involve the characters dying? They run out of health and then shout, “Dang! I’m too hungry to keep fighting! I’m going to snack it out!” And then keep showing up in cutscenes but you can’t fight with them anymore. 020
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Right now, there’s no point in playing fire emblem on normal with permadeath on because you get infinite rewinding potion to take back any turn. It would be interesting if the rewinding potion had a resource limit or the cost to rewind increased with use? But no, you literally have infinite potion 240
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I don’t think I realized the steam frame costs more than the steam machine. That’s crazy. 080
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Miyamoto wanted this. He was worried that Nintendo’s falling cultural relevancy and lower hardware sales in the late 90s/early 2000s was because Mario was perceived as too childish. He wanted Cool Mario. 010
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 21/09/2026It is really funny that for the story of Fire Emblem, Intelligent Systems decided to rip off Nier (2010) and then said “but let’s not make it such a bummer”. 030
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 21/09/2026They added Total War mode to Fire Emblem. They added “regular Turn Based RPG” mode to Fire Emblem. It should collapse under its own bloated weight, but I’m having fun. Sometimes, more is more. 260
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Warmed up on Fire Emblem as I played this weekend. They made a system where it’s difficult to “optimize” time between story fights, so you get to make choices; do you explore the map for the chance to find rare fish? You might miss your weekly window for training/worship/bird talking in the city. 280
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 19/09/2026I thought this was supposed to by the fire emblem game with the good story 190
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 18/09/2026My birthday suit is a uniform. And they make me wear it every day. 071
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I watched If I Had Legs I Would Kick You on the plane and I thought it was incredible. Finally, women have their own A Serious Man, just with more existential dread. 050
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I think if the people who have concerns about the RE movie being “true to the Lore” saw the climax of Weapons, they would know the movie is in very good hands. That sequence feels instantly iconic. 1110
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The vignetting structure in that movie is so good. Every character insists that they are not a certain thing and then spend their entire section of the movie acting like that thing. Julia Garner is a Witch. Josh Brolin is a 60 year old child, etc. etc. 160
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Watched Weapons on the plane. What a picture! If that’s the dude writing and directing Resident Evil, I will be seated. 1130
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Resident Evil just really not that gay. now Devil May Cry on the other hand… 4160
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I think that sells XCOM a little short? It didn’t tell a personal story, but the game had cinematics and its own style—even if it was mostly vibes. 100
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Really, I’m just kicking myself In hindsight for hearing the concept of thinking “it’s Star Wars XCOM” and thinking I knew what to expect. I really didn’t know how good it would get! Love to be surprised. 120
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 14/09/2026But that’s also the big difference between the two games: Zero Company really does seem like a game made in a 3D engine with more complicated design and wacky physics whereas XCOM sometimes seems like 3D assets rendered ontop of 2D map data. Like comparing Quake and Doom. 230
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Especially on consoles; Zero Company controls so much better on gamepad than XCOM did, with a much more responsive UI and smarter cursor that goes where you want it to on the 3D map. 140
MattBodega @mattbodega.bsky.social · 14/09/2026After finishing Zero Company, I downloaded XCOM 2 just to try it out and that was a stark reminder that XCOM 2 released 10 years ago. 3160
