Nwaneri looks very good again. Such a good touch and can shoot and pass so well in the final third. He's dropping deep to receive passes, and his counterpress looks improved as well. Karl Hein has kept Dortmund out of the net so far.

My amateur assessment of what's happening on the field with Arsenal right now, and why I do think Slegers is to blame (unfortunately): 1. The starting lineup makes sense, despite only having one left-footer. That's the extent of the problem for me.

That was an excellent first 44 minutes for Arsenal and a horrible last 5 of that half. Didn't quite give away the goal like the other 5 this season, but made it way too easy for it to find the back of the net. Looking really good and threatening again so far but the final moves and touches lacking again. Ball over the top on the left side is there early, and Baum has Charles on toast. This has been routine this season. Just get it in the net and don't give away a goal.

My take today on Sham City and complaints about financial rules in the game in general is that the pending "crisis" that people are afraid might happen if the owners are forced to sell, or if the club is disassembled, is exactly why the financial rules were necessary to begin with.

What are they looking at in this OL-Chelsea game? Gave Tarciane a yellow for challenging on a ball through a way-offside Bronze to a back post runner who tried to shield from the ball and never touched it. That's the second weird refereeing decision today.

First, you can set a time and a place to talk to him. Don’t let him set it, because he’s used to having control. If you’re worried he’ll get violent with you, do it over the phone. If you’re worried he’ll try to sit down with you and charm you round to “his side of the story”, do it over the phone. Next, work out how long you want the conversation to be. Short is better - fifteen or twenty minutes is plenty enough. That will help you to keep your composure while he loses his.

My jaw was dropped from the first paragraph of the PL statement through when I finished reading it, and there are so many things so much worse than I'd perversely expected. This is one of them, and it's an admission that the club couldn't actually secure lucrative sponsors. That's wild to me in 2017

That cutback to Foord in the box that she took an unnecessary touch on in order to get her shot block is going to haunt my dreams for a while. That's a dream goal for anyone with feet. Just make good contact on it on your first touch and it's a goal. So much space too. Better to put it over the bar.

It's always funny to me when people talk about players like Calafiori maurading chaotically as if he's just wandering around the pitch. Both with Italy and Arsenal, he makes runs into open spaces to manipulate defenses, and he's one of the best at doing it precisely because they're calculated runs.
