I especially enjoyed the Politics of Debt discussion. So much of our society is shaped by debt: housing, healthcare, education, municipal services, etc. To talk openly about it, and how to address it, gets political. I thought this observation from Yotam Moram was particularly good.

5 out of the 6 Supreme Court Justices who gutted the Voting Rights Act were nominated by a president who came into office having lost the popular vote. 70% of Americans support the John Lewis VRA. The Supreme Court is historically unpopular. It is not a democratically legitimate institution.

In 1997, Wyandotte County merged to create a "Unified Government of Wyandotte County / KCK." thebeaconnews.org/stories/2022... That means we have one person doing the job of mayor / county executive. We just elected Christal Watson, the first Black Woman to ever have that office.

KCK homes are relatively affordable compared to the region, and especially compared to the nation. That is due to Wyandotte's perception, when White Flight fled to create affluent Johnson County just south. But immigration and DINKs have seen KCK's population rebound: www.zillow.com/kansas-city-...
