The meme references the famous sales scene from The Wolf of Wall Street and humorously reframes the pen as a dangerous or harmful technology.
In the top panel, a man in a white shirt holds out a pen and says, “Sell me this pen.” In the bottom panel, another man with curly hair and glasses holds the pen and replies, “It’s going to kill you all.”

How the UK gov creates a rod for its own back? A system designed for chaos: Students are temporary & net contributors. It should be easy to track how many student visas later convert into work visas? Also, they've no means of tracking visas granted & actually used. 🤦‍♂️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Visas for legal migration

How do people come to the UK legally?

Most people who come to the UK do so legally, after being granted a visa before they travel.

A visa gives someone permission to enter or stay in the UK for a specific purpose, such as work, study or joining family members.

There were 778,625 people who came to the UK via visas from April 2025 to March 2026, not including visitors or people transiting through the UK. This was down by 11% on the same period the previous year.

That does not mean all those people travelled to the UK, only that they were approved to do so.Study - 412825
Work - 252775

I wouldn't trust it completely, getting a second opinion from another installer should help. It also offered me "If you want, I can outline exactly what to say to the installer so they don’t brush this off." Response below and also in alt text of the image.
Subject: Roof tile damage and mounting concerns – requires remediation
Hi [],
I’ve inspected the roof following the solar installation and I’m concerned about the quality of the tile work around the mounting brackets.
Specifically:
Multiple tiles are significantly lifted and not sitting flush
Tiles have been broken and roughly cut, leaving large gaps
There are visible openings beneath tiles, which compromises the roof’s water-shedding layer
I cannot see evidence of proper flashing or tile replacement flashing at these penetrations
This is not consistent with standard tile-roof solar installation practice. Tiles should be neatly notched or replaced so they sit flat, with appropriate flashing to maintain weatherproofing.
I’m requesting that this be rectified properly, including:
Replacement of all damaged tiles
Correct tile notching or use of flashing kits/replacement tiles at every mounting point
Ensuring all tiles sit flush with no visible gaps
Confirmation that the roof remains fully weatherproof and compliant with installation standards
Please confirm how you intend to address this and provide a timeline for remediation.
If needed, I’m prepared to have the work reviewed by an independent roofer.
Thanks,
[Your Name]
If they try to brush you off, use these follow-ups:
If they say “this is normal”:
I understand minor tile lifting can occur, but broken tiles and visible gaps are not considered acceptable. Please confirm how you’ll restore proper weatherproofing.
If they say “it won’t leak”:
I’m not comfortable relying on that assumption. The installation should maintain the roof’s original water-shedding integrity, which currently appears compromised.
If they stall:
I need a clear remediation plan and date. Otherwise I’ll proceed with an independent inspection and take it from there.
Tone tips
Don’t accuse—state observable facts
Use phrases like “not consistent with standard practice” (harder to argue with than opinions)
Ask for specific fixes, not just “please check”

ChatGPT after analysing your picture!
This isn’t just minor tile lifting—this is poor installation, and it should be fixed.
Here’s what stands out from your photo:
What’s wrong
Tiles are significantly lifted around the brackets—not just slightly proud, but clearly displaced
Large chunks have been broken out of the tiles (you can see rough, jagged cutouts rather than clean notches)
Gaps are visible under the tiles, which means water can get driven underneath by wind
There’s no visible proper flashing protecting those penetrations
That combination is the issue. A small, neatly notched tile sitting flat over a hook is normal. What you’ve got here is structural damage + poor weatherproofing detail.
How serious is it?
I’d classify this as high risk if left as-is:
Water can track under those gaps, especially in wind-driven rain
Broken tile edges can worsen over time (freeze/thaw, movement)
Debris suggests tiles were aggressively cut rather than properly shaped
Long-term, this can lead to leaks and underlayment damage
Even if it doesn’t leak immediately, it’s not a “wait and see” situation.
What should have been done instead
A proper install would include:
Clean notching/grinding of the tile underside so it sits flat
Or using replacement flashing tiles (metal or composite)
Minimal visible lifting—tiles should look almost normal when finished
No broken, crumbly edges like you’re seeing
What you should do now
Raise this with the installer immediately (this is workmanship issue)
Ask specifically for:
Replacement of damaged tiles
Proper tile notching or flashing kits at every bracket
If you get pushback, consider:
Independent roofer inspection
Holding final payment (if applicable)
Bottom line
This isn’t cosmetic. The broken tiles and gaps mean the roof’s water-shedding layer has been compromised. A competent installer should redo those mounting points so the tiles sit flat and are properly sealed.
If you want, I can outline exactly what to say to the installer so they don’t brush this off.

EU won’t budge on FoM. Labour won’t risk higher immigration for fear of RW(also see PM’s comments below) These positions are fundamentally incompatible, so it’s very unlikely Labour can deliver SM access. Instead of deluding ourselves, we need to elect Green/LibDem gov. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Sir Keir's comments follow pressure from within the Labour movement to go further on a customs union, with 13 backbenchers backing proposals that would pave the way for such an arrangement in a Commons vote in December.
Reminded of his promise that "Brexit is safe in my hands", the prime minister insisted this was not an attempt to reverse it - because nobody wanted to be "picking over the bones of Brexit" but rather "looking forward" at what was in the national interest.
Elsewhere, concerns have been raised that current negotiations around a youth mobility scheme for British and EU students could end up requiring the UK to sign up to the free movement of EU citizens.
Sir Keir said: "That is not the return to freedom of movement, we're not going back to freedom of movement.

McSweeny chose Starmer not the other way around. Starmer is just a puppet! www.the-independent.com/news/uk/poli...
As director of Labour Together, he effectively organised the fightback and handpicked Starmer as the man to take over after Corbyn and turn the ship around. There is even a widespread belief in Westminster’s corridors that this is not Starmer’s government at all, but rather McSweeney’s. The prime minister is in many ways the front man for a project that is actually being directed by an unelected official in Downing Street.
