I see so many in games writing claim certain games as Lynchian or that they're trying to be Lynchian, and it is just a complete misunderstanding of David Lynch and his art — and at times the people inspired by him. This kind of comparison feels endemic to games writing at this point. It's lazy.

At this point, I don't think I'll ever work again. The number of times a job is US-only, too entry level for my experience, or even just a scam (has happened a couple times this year). I'm bummed. LOOKING FOR WORK! Writing, editing, video. Content production. Marketing! Doesn't have to be in games.

This is strange because the original story absolutely shows us why Scrooge is such a cold and miserable character — and you have compassion for him because his reasons are understandable. The power in that story is that he sees how his actions have and will affect others and changes his ways.

If you're looking for a good laugh and cry, might I suggest THE SHEEP DETECTIVES. I'm not afraid to admit how many times I cried. All of the animals are incredibly delightful and will have a firm grip of your heart strings by the end of the first act. I'm giving my dog an extra tight hug after this.

A complete mastery of what only cinema can do. Blue Heron is full of heart yet heartbreaking at the same time. A movie with as happy of an ending as life allows sometimes. I loved it. Honestly, I think it's a perfect movie. If you love cinema and story, you owe it to yourself to watch Blue Heron.

Carolina Caroline is a great new take on the Bonnie-and-Clyde story. Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner ooze chemistry, and as the stakes rise, your heart rate does too. The cinematography is phenomenal, with colours and lighting that'll make you think it was shot on film. Adam Rehmeier has the juice.

Forza Horizon is my idea of a cozy game. Nice, warm vibes. Fast cars. Plenty of positive reinforcement and rewards. It's a feel-good series that never leaves me in anything but an upbeat mood.

A lot of people talking about how we engage with music. It's time to cut out streaming services! Go back to buying your music and OWNING it. Get a cheap disc drive and rip your CDs. It's easy and there are so many great "MP3" players available now Seriously, FUCK streaming services.

How do people who abandon their "inherited" sports team feel? The team your dad or mom loved and now you're faced with the inevitable devastation that they'll face when you reveal you're now a fan of someone else.

Further proof that The Game Awards are NOT the Oscars for video games. The organization does not care about people who make games. It's a glorified E3 trailer showcase.

couple thoughts on z-a: 1) bad graphics do not equate to a bag game and complaining about bad graphics does not equate to criticism. dig deeper. i beg you. 2) pokemon is not targeted at 30+ y/o men. it's fine if it doesn't spark the same joy it did when you were 4. its called getting older.

No, Nintendo and Pokémon did not patent ‘summoning characters and making them battle’

The problem with The Game Awards is that I honestly don’t believe anyone that works on it truly cares about the art and work that goes into video games. They just want to play and consume them. The Oscars is all about honouring the people, from those behind the scenes to the stars on the screen.
