people continue prioritizing short-term market gains when an ecosystem collapse will destroy the value of those gains within their own lifetimes, or those of their children? It's not rational. And of course we know people are not rational economic beings. But even so... wtf? I just don't get it.

Yeah I used to be a real fediverse fanboy... until I wasn't! But I found it interesting that no-one mentioned Bluesky custom feeds. Either actual ignorance, or fear of ostracism.

It's a lovely spot. What blew my mind (as a newly arrived Australian in Europe) is how it's just across the border with Belgium, and the villages on the Belgian side, literally a few minutes' drive away, are just as beautiful, but in a completely different way.

It reads well, but unfortunately it's not 100% true. They screwed up, publishing actual DoB and even user email addresses. bsky.app/profile/rend... They also admit their own privacy statement, t&c etc were inaccurate. Calling them sloppy would be generous.
