Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Incredible race to end such a fun week. Was also great to see all the group of Podium Café crew. Montréal was fantastic this week, putting on quite a show. It's such a great city! 100
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Windy today, at least in my northern suburb. Not sure how much of a factor it'll be in an urban environment. Looks like a tailwind on Camilien-Houde, front wind on Polytechnique. 000
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Some pictures (the Dutch were very present at the front today!) 071
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 26/09/2026@ee1.nl I think that is Puck Pieterse hand, helmet and back 030
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 26/09/2026More pictures from the day. The guy on the second photo didn't stop for lemonade. Booo! 000
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Fun ride with many of the old PdC crew. Saw riders from many teams (NL, Germany, Canada, Serbia, Switzerland) and probably Filippo Ganna. Also, a former bridge and a new bridge. 001

Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Hey @cyclingalps.bsky.social sorry but no Leafs fans tonight 111
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Nice view of downtown from a less frequent eastern angle 100
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Sweden mentioned in the CBC broadcast! (Bernt Johansson, 1976 Olympics winner) 000
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Feels odd no to go to the Montréal race (scheduling didn't work this year, and I'll have plenty more races starting next week). Also roads appear to be wet in some areas of the course, but completely dry in my area 100
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Pogacar will be in Montréal after all... for Urska and the Slovenian national team www.lapresse.ca/sports/cycli...lapresse.caChampionnats du monde | Pogačar sera à Montréal pour encourager son équipe et sa fiancéeMême s’il a tiré un trait sur le reste de la saison, Tadej Pogačar sera présent aux Championnats du monde de cyclisme sur route, disputés à Montréal du 20 au 27 septembre. 001
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Where to watch the TT? Section in red: will be a bit more technical with all the turns. Some food in the are, roads with trees and shade, which is good if it gets hot. Section in orange: avoid unless you want to see full speed. Not too many services, semi-industrial area, boring roads. 100
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 04/09/2026It'll be fine, I can go for a quick lunch ride, it probably won't rain "Probably" was the key word here. Oops. 010
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 23/08/2026So I went on vacation to NL. Not @ee1.nl's NL, Canada's NL. And also France, but not France-France, North America's France. 1- St. John's 2- Quidi Vidi 3- Saint-Pierre 4- Le Grand Colombier (Saint-Pierre) 5, 6- Saint-Pierre 7, 8- Miquelon 120
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Seen on vacation, part 2 Le Grand Colombier... wow, it really has changed cc @cyclingalps.bsky.social 210
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Seen on vacation, part 1 Norwegians were in Canada before @jenscer.bsky.social 110
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 27/07/2026Was looking at the "onboard camera" video from TDF stage 21. I love that some riders stopped to watch the final sprint on the giant TV screen 0233
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 20/07/2026For anyone who is coming to Montréal for the Worlds (in French but worth translating): how to get to/from the airport. If you're with Air Canada you're in luck, otherwise, I'd recommend shuttle 815 to the Des Sources REM station. www.lapresse.ca/actualites/g...lapresse.caDossier | Objectif Montréal-Trudeau | Quelle est la meilleure façon de se rendre à l’aéroport ? (2 articles)C’est bien connu, maintenant : se rendre à l’aéroport Montréal-Trudeau nécessite une patience à toute épreuve. Mais si on a un vol à prendre, y a-t-il un moyen de transport plus efficace ? Nous avons ... 121
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Fun fact: when watching on the France TV feed, there is one recurring advert from a very well-known company where the background music is from... a Québec band! youtu.be/KHxSV3SWn18?... (accent of the singer was a big clue for me... sounded more Québec than France)youtu.beBon Enfant - Ciel bleu (Vidéoclip officiel)YouTube video by Bon Enfant 110
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Not a surprise to anyone who follows @cyclingalps.bsky.social, but he lives in a beautiful (and steep!) area. Sadly the TDF coverage lacks cow pictures. 100
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 18/07/2026They have (FINALLY!) repaved the Mont-Royal climb before the Worlds (also, a local rider took the KOM from Pogacar and it was a fun minor story here) 000
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 01/07/2026And a week later, we're pretty much in this situation. 33 degrees + humidity, feels like 45. 000
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Norway won. This really sets the stage for the biggest Sweden-France sports event since the Alps ping-pong tournament 010
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 24/06/2026Very slight change to the Montréal course (usual race, not the WC). End of lap no longer doing downhill / uphill on Park Ave. They'll go one bloc east, down St-Urbain, then up Park. Changes nothing for the race but spectator access may be a tiny bit more difficult? www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9V7...youtube.comLe nouveau parcours du Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal 2026YouTube video by Grands Prix Cyclistes de Québec et de Montréal 110
Mathieu G @matgig.bsky.social · 21/06/2026Me at 10:00 "Yeah, it'll be fine, sky is clear, I'll beat the rain" [Narrators voice]: Actually, he did not beat the rain. At least it'll make good memories. 010
