Ok, revisting this: I've listened to one opinion podcast during work and determined that, no, I think the 256gb version is more worth it. It doesn't sound like you'll be running a lot of software locally on this thing that can't be covered by an SD card, really.

I signed up for the 1TB version but, like, I still need to see the video to see if it has removable storage. I would guess it has no replacement option, so it's probably worth the extra 200 or so dollars.

In general, I've been happy with my new drawing process of not doing pencil sketches and committing straight away go guache. Let's me live with mistakes and forces me to keep my eye on the whole canvas.

We will need hardware makers to provide open dev platforms that users can buy at affordable prices. It's really time to stop chasing visual improvements and focus more on input devices and lateral thinking.

A box that runs limited software can only be so interesting for so long. I think Sony gets this now, but they're trapped with geekdom expectations that they tone down their haptics (adaptive triggers having a scale/toggle on a system level at all is a bit of a mistake, imo).

Steam input is still one of the best ways to play a game with a novel input scheme. It's wild how long it's been this way, at least since the Wii U era Consoles manufacturers have forgotten how important it is to push for new ways of interacting with computer software. #consoles #gaming

I'm still of the mind that all of this LLM training on GPL code (at least) is completely license violating too. Baking GPL code into a binary blob that can produce other binary blobs is the exact reason why we have these licenses in the first place.

Specifically, I'm using Noodlers Bullet Proof ink in all the pens and I'm definitely sure that the pen's well is flushed of all the non waterproof inks. So I'm thinking there's user error here: despite giving it days to dry it seems that water is reactivating my ink. 🤔
