Some notes: - I have no clue if this affects Switch 2 software - I have no clue if the game crash at the end of the Switch 1 Pokémon example is related - I have no clue how truly widespread this issue actually is

Here's some instances of this issue: - Attached is a video from Raylorant (in the Splatoon Speedrunning Discord) of how long S3 takes to open with FW 23.0.0 (Switch 2) - Additionally, here's a post from [elon's platform] of someone trying Pokemon Sword and also having issues: x.com/s1140044/sta...

The odd thing here though: this doesn't seem to impact the overwhelming majority of consoles (my Switch 2 isn't affected by this issue, and many other people who've tried looking at this don't have this issue). But there is probably *something* going on here regardless.

People with a Switch 1/Switch 2 on FW 23.0.0 (latest): Is anyone noticing that game boot up times are *substantially* slower than normal? We're seeing a handful of cases (someone who tried Pokemon stuff, another from a Splatoon speedrunner) where they're abnormally long after updating to FW 23.0.0

genuine question: what makes this the worst stamper to get for a speedrun? I would think that the ink consumption one would be the worst - range at least let's you deal with some stuff slightly farther away if needed, whereas I'm not sure how much ink consumption matters for a stamper for this.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see more free updates or low-price Switch 2 Editions to increase the value of the Switch 2 to existing Switch 1 users to encourage purchases after the price increase.

honestly one of the biggest issues I have with them isn't even that they're only held over a 22 hour period (though that's not ideal), but rather that they're held only every 2 out of 4 hours within that 22 hour period. Like why is there a period that breaks up the challenge into multiple blocks.

While I understand why we hope a patch is coming, I don't think this guarantees one. We've had instances of these types of patches coming weeks before the actual patch before (see: 5.2.0 and 6.0.0). I don't think Nintendo is going to break their current patch cadence for something akin to a 5.2.0

I think speed tank is probably the best tank in the game, and imo I think it actually has quite a bit of damage. Don't get me wrong, it's not massive damage all at once, but it's a lot of good ways to either deal quick chip damage to a bunch of enemies or to enable your weapon more in general.

Idea for one of the Splatoon Lans If the venue has a big screen/projector for people in the venue to watch, have someone speedrun a splatoon game to highlight the speedrunning part of the scene, have a couch and everything agdq style That would be awesome

I'm not well-versed in the world of college major stuff so forgive me: why exactly would you *not* be allowed to change your major. I would imagine that you would, since if anything it would make the school more money (since you would likely have to take additional classes and possibly stay longer)

you're fine - I don't fault you for trusting a post from a company that does have a genuinely good goal (at least at the outset)

(4/4) As an aside, it feels really off to me for a company to be actively promoting stuff and selling a paid product in an article where they can't even get accurate information *from a post they're actively citing*. It actively makes me trust them significantly less when they fail at that.

(1/4) I don't want to be that type of person, but there's some foundational (e.g. literally the headline) stuff that it gets wrong. Per Discord's own communication (which you're free to trust or not trust) at discord.com/blog/getting..., it was delayed to the 2nd half of 2026 (June is still 1st).

I'm pretty sure they only expire after a patch (e.g. 11.2.0) - this used to correlate roughly with seasons (sans 7.0.0 because Side Order), but since frequent content ended it's generally been a few weeks after a season starts on average (see: 11.1.0 releasing on March 18th, 2026 iirc)

The way I understand how it was written in their announcement, I believe this is just Japan. That being said, I could totally see the US getting a price increase very soon (Canada got one last year)

honestly I think the more annoying ones will be "oh my god the Switch 2 only sold 2.49 million units this quarter" (mind you: PS5 only sold 1.5) and "oh my god Nintendo is anticipating a decline in hardware sales YoY" (expected with price increases + (imo) weaker first half lineup honestly)

Note that this respect does not apply to the Japan price increases, and only applies to the US/Canada/Europe price increases

I have respect for Nintendo that they're announcing a price increase *4 months* in advance - I don't recall a prior instance of this much notice of an increase from a big company
