9 Games thing. These are all ones that have had a big impact on me over the course of my life. Ordered by when I first played them. Lots of elaboration in alt text.

Link's Awakening: The first game I ever played for multiple hours in a row. I was hooked. Youngsters don't know but we didn't have a backlight back then so I had to set up in an area with good lighting to actually see what I was doing.

Mario 3: Still my favourite 2D Mario. I'm a big overall fan. Very polished, fun game. Hammer Bros suit is the best thing they've ever done.

Tales of Symphonia: This game got me into talking about games online. I beat it over a dozen times. Dissected the game's mechanics and found a bunch of bugs and stuff. Fun time. I enjoy the game.

Guild Wars 1: I still really love this game. I would 'almost' call it a deck builder of sorts. Really fun strategic game. Very challenging at first but very rewarding feeling to get good at. I have so many fond memories of playing this with people.

Radiant Dawn: One of my favourite games ever. The game hits on all cylinders for me. Excellent music. I love the world building and general writing of the game. I love the characters. I love the gameplay. All around fantastic game and an amazing sequel.

Genealogy: Another all timer for me. This game taught me how fun it can be to play Fire Emblem efficiently. I still largely model my play after ranked runs of this game. Once again this game fires on all cylinders for me. Music/Gameplay/Story/World Building/Characters. I adore them all.

Guilty Gear XX Reload: My first fighting game I took seriously and really tried to hunker down and learn. I really love the music too. I think XX era GG is where the music peaked.

Trails in the Sky SC: My favourite game ever. I really loved FC but SC was where I was absolutely hooked on the series. It did so much so well and I love it to absolute bits. I could go on and on about the game but I adore absolutely everything about it. Estelle #1.

Trails Through Daybreak: I love the cast a lot and it got me into writing and drawing. I love Van and Elaine to bits. I love Shizuna's gremlin antics. Running around Edith is a joy.

When I tell people the damage reducing stats usually don't matter very much in the Trails games after the OG Sky Trilogy this is the sort of calculation I'm kind of talking about. Reducing damage by 342 is almost nothing when up against almost 8k attack. This isn't even off of an S Craft.

One of the downsides with the Sky remakes using linear power growth per letter grade compared to the exponential growth from CS3-Horizon is that going up a single stage for stuff that was already strong (S Craft Upgrades particularly) is kind of limp here compared to before.

I'm surprised I didn't notice this before but in the Sky remakes you can control the turn order for allies with Heaven's Kiss by manipulating who enters the targeting ring first.

Yeah I double checked Sky 1st and it looks like I was wrong that it was different. It's consistent with other titles. I guess I was thrown off because the game is lying here. The bonus is +20% attack, not +30% damage.

There was some rng in terms of what you get and how big what you get was but you still needed to do the minigame where you press the button quickly enough or else you lose the fish. That part you can at least control by being good at it. From there it was learning what bait option worked well.
