@fluxer.app looks promising. I hope they don't lose focus and get federation working soon.

New project, because I’ve been wanting to try Flutter for a while now: git.boxo.cc/massivebox/g... It's an uploader for some cheap e-paper BLE displays. Check it out!

Non-sponsored shoutout to actalis.com, an Italian SSL certificate authority with a generous free plan. I migrated to them from ZeroSSL, it took about 5 minutes of messing with my Caddy config. I think that in today's political climate, it's crucial that we Europeans support European tech.

It's always sad to see how little love Pine64 devices get software-wise. I dug up my PineTime from a drawer, after not using it for more than a year, hoping there would be some flashy new update or maybe an entirely new firmware, but... Nope. InfiniTime was last updated in 2024, WaspOS in 2021.

I'm trying to get back into blogging, this is what I came up with after a few weeks of sporadic writing. I think it came out well!

Mikayla Raines of save-a-fox took her own life, because of an online smear campaign and relentless bullying. There were many times I fought against the unwarranted hatred and proofless smear campaigns when I would post save-a-fox content. An immeasurable loss for foxes. People are fucking vile...

My PDS is acting up a bit, so I want to give a shot to one of the alternative PDS implementations. What do y'all recommend?

Hello from @aviva.gay's deer.social! This BlueSky client has no analytics and lots of nice features, while keeping the beautiful default client UI. I can't wait for an Android app release!

Lately I've been trying out SiYuan, a PKM app like Notion, but fully FOSS. It has a couple of rough edges, but I'm liking it so much I've already migrated all my documents from Joplin to it! I've also created a freehand drawing plugin based on js-draw (the same one Joplin uses), it's fun!

I love the "Quiet Posters" feed so much, I really think it's one of the best features of BlueSky. The lack of an algorithm for the Following feed makes it so that the most active users drown out all others, but I've always found that the least active ones produce the best content.

So, I won massive.box at a giveaway, and it's even worse than I had imagined. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO PAY ETHEREUM NETWORK FEES TO CHANGE THE FUCKING DNS RECORDS

A screenshot of the my.box site, where I am being asked to approve a transaction on the Metamask wallet to update the DNS records of my site. The transaction has a network fee, and the button to continue is not clickable because I don't have enough to cover it.

I would like to buy a .box domain for myself but I feel weird about it - partly because it costs $120/yr (compared to ~€9/yr for my .net), but also because it's a cryptobros project that thinks providing a ENS together with a DNS provides additional value. I've never seen a sane person use ENS but k

CaveStory is such a masterpiece. Not just for how well-done and fun the game is, but because it was one of the first PC indie games that had enough to compete with commercial games, and create a legacy that still lives on today. The whole game is made by one person - the story, textures, music, 1/

I'm so glad I got those "7dbi" gain pig-tail antennas for Meshtastic, being fully aware that no one in my range uses it. At least they were cheap. Kinda.
