Last year, EarthCARE already flew over the eye of Hurricane Humberto, this time it is impressive how the Doppler and Lidar signals almost reach the ocean surface. 152

A very different beast this one: a huge eye around 100 km across, and very lopsided, with much more rain on the southern side. 2244

Shannon Mason @masonshannon.bsky.social · 17/09/2025EarthCARE's Doppler radar gives us fascinating glimpses into the motion of the atmosphere, and our synergistic retrievals help to tease out some of the processes going on in clouds. Here we find the signature of a gravity wave enhancing homogeneous ice nucleation over the Antarctic. t.co/aHOqkCtXVPt.cohttps://earth.esa.int/eogateway/success-story/earthcare-reveals-how-atmospheric-ripples-boost-cloud-formation-over-antarctica 120

The image shows good agreement in ice clouds in a Canadian flight from the ECALOT campaign. We're also using flights from the UK VERIFY campaign. earth.esa.int/eogateway/su... 131

Opens the door to even more great science! 1124
