I absolutely love this time of year living on the farm. The wild clematis is draping from the Rata and Rimu and native trees. The calla lillies are in bloom. The swamp hens and wood pigeons glompinh everywhere. The foxgloves are about to explode, and the river is crisp with melting snow water 💙💚💙

Have been really into toasties lately as it's been rainy and cold, and I need the cosy foods. Made this Tika Masla, lentil, coconut "made it as I went along", soup as a dippy accompaniment for today's toasties, which were just cheese and caramelized red onion. Simple but smashing.

Caught Zach Cregger's Resident Evil the other day and oh, was it ever so good! Quite possibly my film of the year, beating out the Odyssey. Hilarious in a Shaun of the Dead way but with more horror and a healthy dose of poking fun at video gamers. Good, fine time at the movies.

Have started playing #AlmostHuman and I am awash with a dichotomy of feelings. The game play is fairly confusing but addictive in that mine to craft, craft to mine, explore and find things way. But its riddled with slot like rewards, loot boxes, do this and win this mechanics that I HATE.

Scored this art deco solid wood/leadlight side board from the opshop for $40. Needs a bit of gentle cleaning and a little repair work on the internal door but I love her! I'm going to put all my spooky Halloween cups and China in her which will free up a whole shelf in my other hutch. Win win.

Shingles update week 5. No nerve pain for a few weeks, rash almost gone, stil itches, picture really was from at its worst. I started back up on my immune suppression biologic infusion last week because RA is the gift that keeps on giving. Neck scar is from an old central line - or is it? 🦇

Thrilled to be at a point where my wardrobe is almost entirely handmade, thrifted, and my own vintage (talking decades old) items. I want more and more handmade and upcycled pieces. These two pieces are my last thrift. A recycled sari wrap skirt for $10, and an official Star Wars tee for $4.

Popped out to the garden center as I wanted some new herbs for my kitchwn windowsill pots, and they had a whole bunch of things on clearance for .50c and $1! Couldn't resist this flowering ornamental Kale either, not on sale. I love her. She's in the middle of my table garden now. 🌱🪴

Banger week of dinners this week so far. Yesterday, I did a pork fake ribblet (the sheet pan one) with an amazing sweet and sour sauce and the fluffiest rice. Tonight was bangers and mash and a metric tonne of brown onion gravy. Tomorrow, ze highlight, is chicken and leek pie 🥧 #WinterEats

Added some egg drop and dumplings to the broth for some food medicine 💊 I'm 2 weeks into #Shingles now and the rash is healing and ice pick headaches are gone, I'm just dealing with nerve pain along the affected dermatome now, which is quite intense.

I might be sick but I also know how to look after myself. Slow cooked pho broth. Honestly might have been more effective than the antivirals in making me feel better. I have enough for two containers full in the broth to freeze for during the week.

I have been suffering, emphasis on suffering, from Shingles. People keep saying just take the antivirals you'll be fine. I can only assume these people didn't have already existing autoimmune diseases and a suppressed immune system. The antivirals were taken and laughed at by the virus.

Mando and Grogu fit, and the $30 cup wtf What The Fuck Anyhoo, First Star War since before covid. Was it one long Mano episode. Yes. Was it a fun fine time at the movies with lots of little guys, creatures, pew pews, spaceships, planets and funky space food, fuck yeah it was.

My outfit is a recycled sari wrap skirt in shades of bronze and brown and an up cycled tee shirt featuring Grogo on the front, it has flowey floral cap sleeves and a crochet collar. I have boots threaded with green ribbon laces and green Angora socks on.

Very overpriced plastic reusable drinking cup from the movie theater. It's black with the mandalorian and grogu written on it in green and a picture of grogu on it. It has a small plastic figurine topper of grogu eating food.

Yesterday I made a varity of quickles because we had Banh Mi Sandwiches for tea which meant I also got to eat them today for breakfast with some rice and an egg and a perfectly recipe avo that cost me nearly $4 (weeps in out of season food)
