I remember picking up some climate scientists that were in town for a conference about a year ago. They told me that they knew of colleagues that committed suicide because they couldn't deal with the truth. That was wild to say the least. 😟

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).
A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

Update: This "Super El Niño" will be perhaps the strongest in 500 to 1000 years, and could legitimately be the most extreme global weather or climate event experienced by humanity since the invention of the printing press. Only more extreme situation is a volcanic winter.

Mother Earth carries both birth and burial inside her. Every forest is one of her lungs. Every river is one of her veins. Every mountain is an old bone pushed through her skin. She gives without speaking, which is why people mistake her silence for endless permission.

This is absolutely terrifying The Nino 3.4 forecast temperature anomaly mean is now at 4C, when even the biggest historical super ninos have seen less than 3C I really have no idea what this is going to bring over the next 12 months, but it will be very, very, grim

If DOJ attorneys violate the ethics of the state in which they were licensed, state bar associations can discipline them, but a new rule would pause ethics investigations while the DOJ investigates -- basically allowing an indefinite stall.
