I’m Chair of Governors in a Catholic Primary School but I know that forcing people against their will to practise certain religious customs doesn’t make good Christians. We have lots of Muslim pupils. They choose our school because of a mutual respect for religious faiths.

We have always found kindness & help on #Bryher, Isles of Scilly but small communities depend upon give & take. You have to listen to & respect locals. This is completely the wrong way to go about things. She’ll find it difficult to stay there now & would she want to?

As a cllr, I’ve had to deal with a couple of aggressive dogs, who attracted other dogs. One killed a young spaniel & seriously injured several more. Taking dogs away from their owners who see them just as affectionate pets is really difficult #TheArchers

The death of Ann Widdecombe reminds me of the birth of our first child. In labour, barely able to move, I started shouting about the inequity of a policy where prisoners giving birth should remain handcuffed when they would hardly be able to escape, to the bemusement of the midwifery team.
