Is it just me or are international #airtravel #longhaul flights becoming a total pain in the arse? Flights cancelled 2/12 in advance, then last minute cancellation at the airport, delayed flight risking our connection, worse seats due to rescheduling. Similar story on a prior trip. How about you?

The public #toilets in Japan are exemplary. From the scruffiest cafe to the grandest hotel, the loos are always electronic, heated seat, wash, wipe and dry options, music to hide your noises, automatic flush. This is at Osaka airport.

Look, it’s not a great photo, but it was a very special moment. We spent the day up in the mountains above Oviedo in northern Spain, choosing our spot. We were joined by a group of physicists and their solar camera. A long, slow build up, with clouds drifting by, and then, wow! The totality!
