Just got a twitch payment this morning 🥹 I haven't been streaming much recently due to being out and about during these fall conventions but I miss my crazy community. I am greatful to them and their power to keep me positive

Got paid for a consulting session today 🥹 There is no feeling like helping someone and hearing it from their mouth how your guidance has helped them with their business. You guys have no clue how wonderful that made me feel. My imposter syndrome took a hit today just a little bit.

The demo of this is SO GOOD, I legitimately can't wait for more of this to be available to play! If you haven't tried it and you love classic shoujo & Takarazuka, you should give it a try!!

Feeling so much better from last week and actually have the drive to get stuff done today My cats however... they have been extremely hype since 8am and show no signs of stopping so I have not been able to get as much work done as I would like to just yet lololol.

People saying they value me yet do not want to pay for the value I give... I'm tired. I'm qualified but for some reason I'm just not finding the right opportunities. ( it's sooo tiring but we gotta keep moving)

010

Mary Alana @maryag.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Anyway, regardless, I know I want to meet more people and make more relationships. I am going to schedule as many meetings as I can so that I can make those initial connections and see where those lead in the future.

I feel a little lost ngl but I do have so many ideas of things I wanna try, but it's always the lack of $$ that haunts me. I just need to move forward, though. I know things will fall into place, and sometimes not having a 100%plan can leave for more things to present themselves...

Mary Alana @maryag.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Thinking about how I will spend my time in Japan for TIFFCOM. Not for fun but for work. I want to have a clear goal for my meetings and figure out exactly what work I'll be doing. It's hard when you don't work for a company anymore & you are the boss. I have one objective, which is tied to events.

I flew back Monday but I'm still in recovery mode. I need to do follow-ups but have been drained of everything. Is this how it feels when the Negaverse drains people in every Sailor Moon episode?

Never been so tired in my life. 4 days of waking up at 6am to work a booth in Artist Alley at Anime Expo!! I def don't have the stamina anymore, but it was still a lot of fun. I was happy to help my friend, but JESUS, every muscle in my body was screaming.

I feel anxiety and tiredness at once and I am now behind on my to do list today... but I gotta just roll with it for now because if I push myself too much. I get more frustrated and then NOTHING AT ALL gets done. Time for a movie break

Mental health is so real and someone somewhere is going through it. Today is one of those days for me. Kinda annoying since I've been keeping my head into this LLC creation and prepping for AX next week. Today I was supposed to launch my new website and sort my schedule but I feel empty mentally 🙃

I'm currently working with @sailorvictoria.bsky.social for her Magical Girl Festival, and this year is going to be so special. I can't wait until she announces what was created from finding her the right connections and relationships to bolster her event.

As the anime industry feels so unbalanced currently, I just want to bring a more human approach to bridge-building. The fans are the core of everything, & so many bigger entities forget this imo.

110

Mary Alana @maryag.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

I spent most of my career building relationships within the industry in my own way, A lot of the time I had no idea what I was doing, but somehow I was able to really cultivate something meaningful.

110

Mary Alana @maryag.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

The idea I have is to shine more light on more local fan-driven events and folks who want to start building meaningful relationships with licensors.

121

Mary Alana @maryag.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

Been working on a website for myself as I'm starting an LLC to work more closely with local anime/nerds who are doing events and programs in NYC and want to get connected to industry folks.

I later got to pick up the new Escaflowne Memorial Blu-ray box, which was released around the same time as the new screenings. This version I believe, will only be available for a year, so I definitely wanted to snag it for the collection. Now we just need a vinyl of the incredible soundtrack.

Was so happy to finally see one of my favorite anime movies on the big screen in Japan, at a Bandai revival screening. The sound and animation hit completely different in a theater. It was everything I wanted and more. They even gave out cute cards for this screening.

As someone who runs a web store, having an email box that is answered by a real person is REALLY not a huge lift. I do not understand why techbros think that using Wile E. Coyote-tier AI is some massive unlock.

It's crazy because Amazon wants more anime & has stated many times that it wants to be a preferred destination for anime but these dubs are not helping.

Seeing GDT, who has been very vocal about his HATE for AI, working with and praising a company that is obsessed with, and has all hands deep in AI (especially for using film to train AI), kinda surprises me.

4 screenshots from the 2003 tokusatsu adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi's manga Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. Not to be confused with the anime of the same name. The screenshots feature Sailor Mars from the opening credits, Tuxedo Mask staring up at Sailor V in the distance, a close-up of Sailor Jupiter as she fightsKunzite, and Dark Mercury standing next to Kunzite.

A reminder to my fellow fats, since vaccine season has begun: you can & SHOULD request a longer needle for your shots. Shorter needles may not reach past your upper fat layers, making them less effective (AND your arm more sore). So talk to your doc when you get your shots!! It can really help.
