@aristidetwain.bsky.social draws Jenny wearing these nice earrings that I only got around to including in descriptions years later Like any good sitcom character, this is just an unchanging fixture of her character wardrobe (and good on her for consistency!)
Jenny Over-There (a caucasian woman with reddish hair, a red jumper, and all presumed facial features) looks worried.

More importantly, though, she has gold ball earrings!

What really made this film for me is how unintimidating the titular Psycho Cop is. He has a goof grin, he sounds like if you asked a Youth Pastor to do a Judge Dredd impression, and he's the sort of satanist who'd write "666" on his hand in Biro (except he also did it the wrong way around)

666 written on a hand in pen... except it's upside-down, so he presumably had to write "999", which I guess would make sense if he were a British Cop, but he's American.

I forgot I did literally have him say this in a story, once
“I apologise for not being the most familiar with his work,” the Man in Grey said, crossing his legs in his seat, “I was more of a—”

He stopped himself, trying to think of any piece of child-friendly entertainment he had engaged with. Thinking back, the only things that came to mind were religious tales of Fantomah punishing the wicked, most of which he probably shouldn’t have heard until he was old enough to comprehend the permanence of death. It felt a bit egotistical to only mention media featuring his mother, though, so he had to think of something else.

“I think I liked Punch & Judy,” he finally finished.

Sometimes I wonder if I subconsciously stole Jenny Over-There's look from the babysitter in "When a Stranger Calls" (a film I've never finished, but I have seen that opening). I mean, it's not an impossible connection with the Phone Usage of it all

And the award goes to Doctor Omega! This weird old gremlin tends to keep his cards close to his chest (lest anyone get the chance to object ahead of time), which, combined with his impulsiveness and selective morality, makes for an unpleasantly unpredictable mix for his companions

Shoutout to Dracula's abysmal dining room setup, complete with way too much empty space and a mile-high candles for some godforsaken reason
Dracula and Jonathan Harker are seated adjacent to eachother on a large dining table. Between them is a cobweb-covered candlestick holder topped with 5 very tall candlesticks. It goes well above both gents' heads.

Dynamite Thor: I was going to suggest that he might be less patient if he feels like he needs to save the day somewhere, but then I remembered that, in the 50s comics (which are broadly canonical to my version of him), he does just watch an entire half of a play while he knows a building is burning.
Screenshot of a comic panels from a Dynamite Thor story.

Panel 1: A paper boy screams "EXTRA! City gas tank in flames! EXTRA! EXTRA!"

Glenda (a thin woman in a red dress) says to Peter (a broad-shouldered man in a blue suit), "Hear that Peter! [sic] There's another job for our fire department!"

Panel 2: "During intermission at the theatre..."

Peter and Glenda are seated at a theatre. Peter says "Excuse me Glenda! I must make a phone call!" as an excuse to leave and put out a fire that has presumably been actively blazing for upwards of an hour by this point.

I feel too self-conscious to suggest another oc of mine, but since it seems a bit quiet down here, I'll just submit the OC of a dead comic book artist instead: Fantomah, the iconic rage-filled ghoul/goddess (and also the Man in Grey's mother through strange, cosmic means)

It’s not been explicitly confirmed in a story yet, but that is definitely my intention with Shaz and her somewhat confused feelings towards Glenda. She hasn’t really processed this, of course, but Jenny’s definitely noticed some oddness, and even Glenda wouldn’t question it if she *did* come out
An illustration of a woman with scraggly black hair and pale skin striking a Nosferatu-esque pose. She wears a billowy blue shirt, a yellow cape, and a red shirt and domino mask.

“You had a *husband*,” Jenny echoed, trying not to betray the slight surprise she felt.Think about who’s not here. Shannon… and Jenny…” She stared at him, starry-eyed and on the verge of tears. “She wanted to stay out there, with Jenny. I think they’re getting along!”

“You, uh… You think that?” He must’ve been particularly confused because he abandoned his previous plan of action and sat down.

Glenda joined him, leaning into her boyfriend’s arm. “I mean, why else would she do that? She’s an extreme gal; she probably didn’t want us butting in on them doing… whatever it is. Oh, that’s probably why Jenny asked me about the phones – goodness, Petey, they’re exchanging numbers!” A rush of giddiness went through her, causing her to squee and wrap herself around Peter’s arm tightly, almost like a tourniquet.

And the award goes to Shannon "The Spider Queen" Kane! I don't actually remember how much this has been expressed in canon, but she studies arachnids in her day job and definitely has a fondness for those creatures (as demonstrated in this non-canon scrapbook scrap).

I'd also give a shoutout to Shannon Kane, who's also dealt with her fair share of trauma (mainly seeing her husband die) and has mainly coped with it through a mix of violence and unhealthily strong attachments to those around her (both of which might warn away some people, despite sympathy)

Probably a toss-up between Glenda and Ozma, who both have somewhat traumatic backstories (abusive ex and abusive stepmother, respectively) and then ended up in positions where, because people relied on them, they couldn't really process much of it in a healthy way.

Most recently, Tales from the MFS featured Arco, who I definitely wanted the audience to hate, because I knew I wanted to blow him up at the end, hence why I broke the usual level of sexual content in a 925 Universe story (little to none) to make him just the most intolerable pervert
Illustration of the Man in Grey looking uncomfortable as Arco (a green-skinned ghoul in a red hood) puts his arm around his shoulder.

Art by Aristide TwainA comic panel of Arco being fed to a bunch of crocodiles. Text continues below:

The Man was shocked… then confused.

“I got better,” he added as he withdrew the comic. “It only took a few surgeries and some replacement eyes. I told her she could never kill me, but she didn’t listen, like always, and now look at her – she’s dating some weird postwoman with pink hair! Quite the step down if you ask me, and desperate, too. I mean, besides a vagina and perky breasts, what does she have that I can’t provide tenfol—”He guided the Man further down the museum, past the smashed glass cabinet with a chalk outline where a mummy once was, right up to a painted stone etching of a green-skinned man bowing in subservience to a blue-skinned woman in a black dress.

Arco winced as he looked at the picture. “A bit of a, uh, personal commission there, I wouldn’t hang it up in a museum. It might look tame now, but back in our days, this was x-rated pornography. The early days of BDSM!”“Oh,” his father said, his head firmly fixed on a nearby off-licence. “While we’re here, could I borrow your card? I just realised I’m out of fags, which I can say because I’m a smoker. And also I suppose I’m partial to the odd muscular gent in an orgiastic context—”

The Man in Grey has recently developed a one-sided rivalry with Alex and Shannen, the representatives of the Esoteric Order of Advertising (who took over a lot of MFS advertising after a botched Pride Month campaign) and formerly the Sinneslöschen T9872638 Entertainment And Work System Whiz Kids
Unrelated image of the teen comic book duo, Alec and Shanna, the TRS-80 Computer Whiz KidsExcerpt from "Episode 27: Year in Review":

Jenny did so and found a bizarre sight. It was a video of two people sitting in a studio much like theirs – probably even the same studio if the headphones were anything to go by – discussing the MFS much like them… except they weren’t them. The two hosts were a young, conventionally attractive pair, with the one on the left being a blond man with a baby-smooth face, and the other one being a brown-haired woman sporting pigtails. They both had this uncanny Propaganda Poster quality to them, not helped by the unwavering cheer with which they discussed the MFS.

“— and it’s surreal, it’s absurd, it’s witty,” said the blond man (Alex, according to the subtitle).

“It’s funny, but y’know, it’s also heartfelt!” finished the pigtailed woman (subtitled as Shannen).

“Exactly! That’s what makes the MFS a brand worth following!”

“What a weird way to talk about a call centre…” Jenny muttered.

Alex and Shannen turned to the camera and spoke in unison, “But before we get to today’s guest, we must now pledge allegiance to our sponsor, CancelHelp!”

Also, arguably, there's Professor Wogglebug, whose exoskeleton does give him a somewhat portly silhouette. He's the academically inclined boyfriend of the Man in Grey, with a tendency to go on long-winded rambles about anything and everything ninetwofiveuniverse.wordpress.com/2025/05/04/p...

The 925 Universe features Glenda Sif, the lively romance novel-obsessed girlfriend of Dynamite Thor - she's gotten some focus in stories such as "Lovie Dovie Stuff" and "Meet Cute", which shed light on the more serious side of the character ninetwofiveuniverse.wordpress.com/2025/02/14/g...

She also dresses up like Legally-Not Elvira/Vampira in the Halloween Special
Glenda must’ve noticed their approach, as when Jenny opened the door, she found herself face-to-face with the plump blonde, grinning widely through her oddly pale makeup.

“Howdy, Jen!” she hollered, making Jenny flinch.

It seemed Glenda must’ve been trying out a new style, as she’d ditched one of her many red dresses in favour of an elaborate black gown that wouldn’t look out of place on an old horror host – an impression that her white, beehive-like updo and vampire teeth seemed to support.

A very difficult award, since I spend a lot of time in the 925 Universe writing semi-judgemental descriptions of clothing... I think the award has to go to Glenda Sif, whose look is very simple (many a comic book blonde has donned a red dress), but I like @aristidetwain.bsky.social's spin on it

I guess I have to hand it to Professor H.M. Wogglebug T.E? While his own diet mainly consists of other insects, he is also the only 925 Universe character to display literally any competence in the realm of cooking and has made several gardening and cookbooks (which allegedly have recipes in them)
“For example, many of us have an image in our heads of what a ritualistic murder looks like, but not many of them have significant overlap beyond someone dying by the end of it. In the case of the succession ritual that should be carried out by the Cardinal Witches, who’s to say examples of a ritualistic murder can’t extend to something like being flattened by a house, or dissolved by a bucket of water?” ~ Easy Air Fryer Recipes, 2019for this is given in the Professor’s book, Gardening for Beginners:

“… when I was working with L. Frank Baum and John R Neill, I was faced with a rather prickly situation. You see, American writers and artists back then – even those two – had a very peculiar way of depicting people with skin tones other than peach or beige. Peculiarly demeaning, that is. While I was there to ensure the people involved were depicted with sufficient accuracy for a piece of child-oriented literature, I feared that America’s abhorrent version of accuracy might come at the expense of the dignity of public figures such as Glinda or, Lurline forbid, Queen Ozma. Under those specific circumstances, I chose a compromise. I was as accurate as inhumanly possible with descriptions, but simply omitted any specification of skin pigmentation. I’m not particularly proud of this choice, I must confess, but at least I could see my father’s portrait in the Royal College of Oz without feeling unfathomable guilt and shame.”

He tends to go all in on random hobbies before abandoning them - detective work, acting, magic, and most recently a post-psychedelic band with fellow listless alien royal, Tetra-None Hepta-Oct. It fell apart after a bad Christmas jam session where he technically tried to get AI to write a song
Fred – the artificially intelligent fire hydrant with a grating voice – shook his… head? Body? Something shook. “Some are sad. Twelve Days of Christmas is just miserable!”

“Fred,” Talbot said, leaning forward in the worn wooden chair, revealing his bloodshot eyes. “Fred, generate a Christmas song.”

Tetra glared at Talbot, “Really, mate? AI generation? I thought we made the music, man!”

“Besides,” added Fred, “I’m not that kind of AI. I’m ACTUALLY ALIVE! It said it on the back of the box, you idiot!”

The Man in Grey and Professor Wogglebug have been a surprise hit, even to me, who only paired them together because they interacted once and I thought it'd be funny, but then also went earnest with it because I thought to do otherwise would be too mean-spirited. Art by @aristidetwain.bsky.social
An old man in a grey robe is sat across from a giant, mantis-like creature with a blue coat and fancy, curled shoes. Both of them look nervous. Steam pours out from their heart mugs, and in this steam is the top half of the image, which I've dutifully cropped out because this isn't about the subplot in "Lovie Dovie Stuff" wherein Jenny Over-There stages a kidnapping as part of a scheme to help Peter admit his superhero identity to Glenda.

And the award goes to Shannon Kane, aka "The Spider Queen"! As her Glenda Sif's best friend, she's very attached to her (perhaps more than platonically, though she'd never admit it) and, consequently, really doesn't like seeing her with her boyfriend, Peter (again, she'd insist otherwise).

MIG, of course, has a very different response if the criticism is aimed at his boyfriend.
On the subject of the musical, the Professor’s boyfriend (one Man in Grey, The) appends this note: “I’ve had my email inbox for decades, and it is lined with millions upon millions of spam emails from all kinds of horrible entities – beings from other universes who want nothing more than to leech your identity, steal your money, leave you dead in the dirt and ruin those around you. Perhaps I could get you in touch with them if you’re feeling uncharitable towards my business partner."

The award goes to Ayer Hedd, a balloon-headed Munchkin who prosecuted in the trial against the Man in Grey in "Lawyers and Tigers and Bears"... though, in practice, he ended up being nicer than the guy (well, elephant) who was meant to be the Man's defence attorney. He's too good for this world.
Suddenly, the doors burst open, revealing a short man wearing a blue suit – though the most notable part about them was the bright red balloon they had instead of a head.

“Sorry, sorry!” the balloon-headed man squeaked, “Prosecutor Ayer Hedd is here, your hon—” they stopped, looking up (despite the lack of eyes) to see that the judge was absent, “Ah. Good. I’m early. I’ll take my seat then.” Ayer awkwardly shuffled to the Prosecution’s side of the court. Noticing the others, they offered a polite wave, “Good luck, everyone!”Kabumpo shrugged him off, “He’s breaking the script, your honour!”

Ozma tilted her head, “Script?”

“I gave him a script!”

The Professor clicked, turning to Kabumpo, “You didn’t tell him about the script, did you?”

“Hey, you’re not one to talk, Mr. ‘Oh sorry I forgot to tell you I wasn’t prosecuting today H.M. T.E. Wogglebugman’ sir!”

“Uh, objection,” said Ayer, raising their hand like a polite little schoolboy, “I thought the Shaggy Man’s words were quite insightful, actually – surprisingly honest.”

“OBJECTION!” snapped Kabumpo, “I spent all afternoon writing that! I missed lunch! They were giving away bacon sarnies, and I missed that because of you! I STARVED FOR YOU, YOU BASTARD!”Ayer turned to the Man as he sat down, “Oh, hello! Coming over to my side for a bit?”

The Man nodded, “It’s ridiculous. I shouldn’t need to be protected from my defence attorney!”

“Kabumpo? Ah, he’s just a big softie…”

The Man looked at Kabumpo. He mouthed the words “You are dead!” or at least he thought that’s what it was. The trunk got in the way a bit.“That’s not where the witnesses come from,” said Ozma.

“Oh, I know, it’s just…” He gave a sheepish chuckle “You see, this witness is a bit of a last-minute addition. I was looking at my notes last night, and I realised that these arguments I had lined up… well, they were a bit one-sided really. Very negative. I thought it’d be a bit unfair to put the Shaggy Man on trial without considering both sides of the debate, so I tried to find another witness to balance things out.”

At this point, the Man had to wonder why his partner couldn’t get in the prosecutor’s seat. At least the Professor could keep up the pretence of not actively trying to defend him.

(and before anyone says "But Jenny never met Mr. Sandy, she just watched him on TV", there's this bit near the end where it's stated that Mr. Sandy *was* travelling through signals through unclear means, so TAKE THAT!)
Oh, he couldn’t help but giggle, “When you were a child. I saw you through your television set. I remember your scream.”

He was bluffing a bit with the claim that he specifically saw her – after all, there were so many children he saw when roaming those signals – but the look on her face told him that it worked. He had to admit, he was going to miss seeing all those children shrivel up in fear… though perhaps he’d get something stronger out of them when he barged into their house, raygun in hand.

I already mentioned Ms. Pritchett recently, so instead, here's "Child Friendly Entertainment", a story where Jenny is, reunited with her oldest fear - Mr. Sandy To make a long story short, she kills him. (art by @aristidetwain.bsky.social) ninetwofiveuniverse.wordpress.com/2025/07/05/c...
A poster on a brick wall advertising "Mr. Sandy"

On it, in front of a psychedelic pattern is a pot-bellied clown-like creature in a green jumpsuit with red triangles, circles, and ruffles. Their circular, jaundiced face features a square nose, thin yellow lips, white eyes with blue triangles in place of pupiles, and two nubby antennae, topped with a black conicle hat. They dont' wear shoes or gloves.

Text surrounds the clown-like creature in colourful shapes:

"He's funny!"
"He eats things!"
"He's not here to enslave us all..."
"... he promised!"
