People from outside Kent often assume this is somewhere Reform are winning elections. Not true. They haven't won anything in Kent since Aug 2025. Nothing, in any elections across the Kent area since then. This week - another case of Reform not winning in Kent www.kentonline.co.uk/weald/news/l...

To add: I loved clues 9ac, 18ac, 24ac, 27ac, 1d, 2d, struggled with 14d but made it after much head-scratching. Many thanks for another great crossie. Colin would have been very happy with this one, I'm sure. More please.....

Any insight as to why Trump surrendered to the Taliban? After all those deaths, and winning control of Afghanistan, to just walk away? Any ideas why?

Democracy in Kent is under attack from a Reform administration that is clearly terrified of scrutiny. They are moving to quiet the opposition while prioritising songs and prayers over policy discussion. It is a bizarre and anti-democratic shift for our county. 🧵 1/6

I'm seeing increased talk about proportional representation, which is good. It will obv make multi-party administrations more likely. But PR will also make such coalitions easier to manage. The electoral risks for coalition partners will be less severe under PR.
