More from Kamakura. It was the seat of the first Shogunate and you can see a lot in a relatively small area. Highly recommended if you ever have the chance. It’s a beautiful city.

We’re having a fantastic time in Japan. This is all from Kamakura.

The copper Buddha on a bright sunny day. You can actually go inside it.

This is a temple to a different aspect of the Buddha. You can’t take any photos inside the main shrine but there’s a large beautiful statue made of camphor wood.

Same temple but lower down the hill, it’s a cave with carvings and shrines. Some of the passages are low and you have to walk doubled over.

A large lovely Shinto shrine. I couldn’t see all of it because I couldn’t make it up the stairs to the upper part.

I’m in Japan for Hal-Con and it’s absolutely wonderful! They presented me with the Seiun award that the translated edition (translated by Naoya Nakahara) of System Collapse won. This is a fantastic convention, I’m really enjoying it even through the jet lag.

It’s 25F here and we have a lot of sleet, but the power is still on so far, and our solar batteries are charged if it goes down. And actually the trickle we’re getting from the panels is enough to keep the house going right now.

These were the first books I read by @aliettedebodard.com and I've loved her work ever since! It's so cool to see them released again with fabulous new covers by @fringe-element.net

It’s also a good day for a nose boop from the magical dog at the Museum of Lost Tales in Zagreb. He is very soft. (These were taken during SFeraKon this past May)
