The @hs2ltd.bsky.social civils' works are well underway as can be seen at Calvert today. Even grabbed a pic of a @chilternrailway.bsky.social train crossing HS2! The employment that will come to Calvert will boost the area with high paid skilled jobs.

The Snowdon Mountain Railway is featured in the latest Heritage Railway magazine. The inside story of the modernising of Clogwyn loop at 2550 feet up the mountain in the worst winter for years. The ride out on a Works train was awesome! Read all about it.....

ODAY marks the 30th anniversary of Railtrack being floated on the stock market. Fortunes were made and lost. Far more importantly lives were lost in the dash for commerciality at the expense of safety. This was probably the worst privatisation of the Conservative era. Discuss!

A year ago saw the first train carrying passengers between Bicester & Milton Keynes. #westcoastrailways operated this and another half a dozen or so since then. @chilternrailway.bsky.social have yet to announce a start date for services despite announcing they were to be the operators last March.

Did you note the LNER bucket seat I use as the driver's seat? Its off A4 No. 60001. Adrian Shooter told me I was bonkers when he saw it! And this is the boat engine, a 1990 built 38' narrowboat.
