This is a wonderful model of leadership: “leadership is based on service to the community, not personal power. Authority is earned through demonstrating responsibility, wisdom, and integrity. Decision-making is collective.” -Aimee Roberson, Cultural Survival

The word “scientist“ dates from 1840, less than 200 years ago? That’s wild to think about. So much room for change in such a new idea!

I just watched 100 kids dance traditional European folk dances and the social cohesion it suggested was really life affirming. I’m so glad there are kids still taking the time to learn to do that together.

Hardly a day goes by without my getting email from someone looking for ways to do good with tech. From computer science students thinking about post-grad careers to seasoned coders with decades of experience, there's an army of hackers looking for a way to turn their expertise into public goods. 1/

Is AI unethical? If it’s centralized in giant buildings, powered by burning gas, to drive more exploitation by the already powerful, yes. If it’s math, built on collective knowledge, powered by distributed renewables, empowering everyone including change agents for good, then no. Inherently: neither

Cool principle: the Antidoom system notices when an AI is in a doom loop, records what the first token of the loop is, and then introduces multiple equally compelling alternatives to that token, so the LLM can take a different fork in the road and break the loop! www.marktechpost.com/2026/07/07/l...

There are now 80 "non-human identities" online for every 1 human online, says Palo Alto Networks. Bots, agents, IoT devices, often authorized to act on our behalf. There are a lot of caveats one could raise about this, but I still think it's a pretty big deal. www.youtube.com/shorts/N8ADU...

One of the biggest joy-killers of US cycling infrastructure is how narrow it is. Forcing everyone into a single-file line ruins the experience. Cycling is social, and our paths need to be wide enough to actually enable that.

In all seriousness this is a huge issue with the subsidized right wing bullshit machine. Articles written by well-funded news “foundations” are syndicated out with no paywalls. This is subsequently rewarded in several ways.
Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel cofounded the Daily Caller News Foundation for two primary reasons. First, to train, mentor and launch the next generation of reporters, all the while providing full-time salary and benefits. We nurture a group of journalists committed to the guiding principles of individual liberty, limited government, free markets, and pledged to produce trustworthy news reporting. Second, to investigate and tell stories that are overlooked or intentionally ignored due to media bias. Then we push those stories through our licensed media network partners to reach millions of Americans.
We strive to be the most innovative, successful, results-driven training ground for up-and-coming journalists in America through our flagship program, the American Journalism Institute.
We are also one of the most impactful news organizations in the world. We are the go-to newswire service for conservative media outlets wishing to publish the national news. Our goal is to prompt policy changes for the better, hold public officials accountable and educate the public on relevant issues with facts, not opinions.
All content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience. For licensing opportunities of our original content, please contact Thomas Phippen.
