Pushed out of the mainframe room and so on, have I been embittered? You're fucking right. Did leaving keep other men from pushing me around? No. If I could go back would I stay in those spaces and be a lot more noisy about the idiots? Yes. If I had maybe the girls today would have it easier.

"traditionally associated with men". The sheer herpydurpness of that phrase. I'm going to explode.

This Zapotec ceramic artifact features a face split longitudinally to represent life and death. It encapsulates the ancient Mesoamerican concept of duality: life-death, day-night, rain-dry; not necessarily conflict, but complementary balance. The piece was found in Soyaltepec, Oaxaca, 500-800 CE.

Sudan, Gaza, the US. All holocausts. I'm going to school to see the children. In the face of their joy I'm mostly ok but also No child is safe here.

If you were committed incest upon, you don't owe it to anyone to talk to that person ever again. Say it one more time. You don't owe anything to that person no matter what pressure other family members may exert. They're in the wrong. Protect your Self

Every day is a day to not give up. No matter what, your heart, even beating in sorrow, is a gift to this earth and we are lucky for your eyes lifting up and allowing in a breath. It's hard (esp if we been through a rape or two) but I implore you to not go. Stay and fight for your life.

Interesting how the right is always bashing Mamdani, saying the Jews don't feel safe in NY because he's the mayor. This protest paints a different picture 🤔 NY is the true melting pot.

Bessie Smith, the Empress of Blues: one of the greatest & most influential #blues singers of all time. A major influence on later generations of singers across blues, #jazz, gospel, R&B, soul & rock, including Billie Holiday, Mahalia Jackson & Janis Joplin. She died #OTD in 1937. #MusicSky #music

A black-and-white studio portrait of Bessie Smith (1894–1937), the legendary Black blues singer known as the “Empress of the Blues” and one of the most influential vocalists in American music history. In this full-length, dynamic image, she stands confidently in the center of the frame, arms gracefully outstretched in a theatrical pose of joyful expression. She wears a shimmering, light-colored 1920s flapper-style gown covered in intricate beadwork, fringe, and floral appliqués at the waist, with a sheer overskirt and dark heeled boots. Her short dark hair is neatly styled, and her face is lit with a radiant, open-mouthed smile that radiates power, charisma, and delight. The dark, softly draped studio backdrop and dramatic lighting emphasize her commanding stage presence.

I don't understand reading a good novel one time and calling it "read." Do not other people get nightmares about secondary characters until they go learn more about them by rereading the book?
