Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 4hAgreed. theres a long way ahead still for the UK Greens it seems (I'm a dutch/german Green). 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 05/10/2026das hat in Ost Aleppo funktioniert Aber schon in Idlib nicht. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 04/10/2026yes, identity politics is a serious danger for the Greens, as for all parties on the enlightened Left. It is the trojan horse though which right wing framing has entered the formerly egalitarian Left, neutering it from the inside. 030
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Germany as a country may have the resilience. These specific two parties, have not. It's also not (yet) a real resurgence of Nazism. The problem is that the centrist, bourgeois 'middle' of the society has created the problems. So voters must go to the flanks. Doesnt mean their home is there. 100
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 03/10/202620 years ago was 2006. Putin had not even given his Munich speech. Lets not reread all of history to fit todays situation. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 03/10/2026because the EU is increasingly preoccupied with the (respective) domestic issues and navel gazing. This has the potential to lead to defeat for both EU and UA. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 02/10/2026i was in school in the late 70s and the EU in current form didnt exist. It was all intergovernmental politics back then. As such reported as part of then current foreign politics. Not something to be taught at school. The EMU existed but was for professionals. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 02/10/2026you cannot solve the problem of them being evil. Give any person that much power, and the result will be evil. Its not in the persons, its in the structure. This concentration of power and wealth in itself is the cause of its evilness. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 02/10/2026because that is not a good use of resources. The war isnt a contest of who can kill more civilians. UA needs to destroy the russian warfighting ability. 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I agree that collapse is coming and that it will be complete. But just because that what is, is so bad, and so inhuman in the humanist sense, that means that whatever comes after, has a good chance to be better for humans (as well as for what remains of the biosphere). 120
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 02/10/2026 110
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 30/09/2026isnt this a good set of charts? To me it seems to show that the increase in fraction of precipitation in heaviest events is lowest in the areas where rainfall is most spread out (e. g. temperates). Isnt that good? 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026why does anyone want to wear a spy microphone and even pay for it? They could not be admitted to managerial meetings in a medium sized company. 050
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026in a way our system faithfully represents. A political layer unwilling to acknowledge and engage reality is merely a reflection of a population unwilling to do the same. 110
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026no worries i dont want to burn down and deconstruct our systems ! :) Only we have an unfit political layer on top of the professional expertise layer (on those, i totally agree w/ you we have all the expertise we need). only, it seems, much worse things may be needed to reform our pol layer. 110
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026That they recreated the Republic of Novgorod is a bonus though :) 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026it most likely is, since the geography is totally wrong in a lot of other places. Finlands shape is wrong, Frantza Josefa, NorthWest Passage. Its AI. 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026These later tweets countermand your initial tweet. These assumptions you describe, were more or less self serving. Not based on analysis of reality, but on the fervent wish not to have to shape the world oneself. So our political layer failed us. And our system is NOT able to replace them in time. 110
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Germany is under nuclear threat ever since Russia has nukes, same as Russia is, ever since the US has nukes. Thats a completely different thing however from these new weapons which are ~ instantaneous. They create an incentive for us to attack them as soon as we see preparations in Kaliningrad. 100
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026yes, these were part of the nuclear deterrence that has always been active since 1950s. That deterrence (of both sides - ICBMs, airborne nukes, SLBMS etc) left political decision space. The shortrange nukes dont. Thats what the IMF treaty was designed to suppress, which Russia canceled. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026ad B) - No, there are not. If any security concerns by anyone were 'legitimate', then we would have a claim on Russia not to station medium range nuclear missiles in Kaliningrad (which they do). These can be in Berlin in IIRC 7 minutes, denying any realistic reaction option. 150
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Does 'realism' deal in legitimacy? I thought their basic concept was that that what can exist, is justified to exist simply because it can. 'Legitimacy' would require some ulterior conception of what "should" or "should not"exist. 000
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026we only make it in the dark magenta anymore, no longer the bright daylight :( I wish you a happy birthday ! 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026yes. Its a whole other thing to break solidarity than to simply disagree on what to do. Very few (looking at you, Slovakia) would break solidarity with the Estonians. Certainly not we (D/NL) 170
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 22/09/2026we cant. its unrealistic. We do not have the political cohesion and will to preempt and neutralize Russia. 230
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 21/09/2026That was for military goods (to Kaliningrad) if i remember rightly. IIRC China also intervened bc Klaipeda is the end point of its belt and road continental line on russian gauge. But one can check 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Lucky thing then that there is no fascism in Ukraine. 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I just think *any* other CDU or SPD person who might take over from Merz would be just as unpopular quasi immediately. It is structural. Any other Kanzler could only announce some other version of so called reforms that people would immediately hate. 010
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 21/09/2026you could also say two triangles are shown. Together they have six angles. Both have one right angle. Two more angles are given. That means, only two out of 6 angles are unknown, one per triangle, and therefore the problem is solvable. 020
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 21/09/2026yes, its simple organized adding and subtracting. One may take a moment to think it u, but then its easy! 020
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Die AfD wird keine neoliberale Wirtschaftspolitik machen. Viel schlimmer. Stamocorr - Staatliche Monopolkorruption. Wie in Russland. 2171
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 20/09/2026very very slim chance of that. Poll standing might revive somewhat only if this new gov't threw reason to the wind and made an exclusively populist-oriented policy but the economic disaster would follow fast and sharp and the AfD would reap the benefits then, slightly delayed but all the more. 100
Marsanges @marsanges.bsky.social · 20/09/2026And then who? Dobrindt? Things are going to get worse. Merz or not Merz. Even if you put Wuest there, he'd have to govern with the same SPD in the same parliament. If you want change, you need new federal elections. And those may bring not the change you want. 000
